Day 7

Scripture to Read: Hebrews 13:20-25

God, through the writer of Hebrews, ends the letter of Hebrews with some great words of encouragement. We’re reminded in Hebrews 13:20 that our God is the God of peace and that He (God the Father) is the One who raised our Lord Jesus Christ (God the Son) from the dead. Because Christ was raised from the dead, God the Father established an eternal covenant (promise), through the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, with everyone who surrenders to Christ as Lord. God’s covenant (promise) is sealed and can never be broken. The continued Good News in Hebrews 13:21 is that God equips each of us with everything we need to carry out His will. God also gives us His strength and makes us complete in Christ. God the Father, through Christ, continually accomplishes in us what is pleasing in His sight so that all honor, glory, and praise go to Him. Finally, God, through the writer of Hebrews, tells us to pay close attention to everything He has written to us in Hebrews. God has given us, in Hebrews, words of encouragement, exhortation, and warning so that we continually walk in His Truth daily. Of course, we must pay close attention to all God has written to us through the 40 writers He used to pen all 66 books of His Word. God does not want us to miss all He has for us this side of heaven. God also does not want us ever to lose sight of our true home with Him, knowing we’ll all be there one day soon.

Day 1

Love is the central theme of all of God’s Word. Our Lord Jesus Christ made sure this was clear in Matthew 22:34-40. Jesus said that the greatest commandment is to “…Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” Then Jesus said the second greatest commandment is just like the first, and then He said this, ...

Day 2

God shares in Hebrews 13:4 how sacred marriage is to be held among us. Our society today, especially here in the USA, treats marriage almost like dating is treated in middle and high school. People date for convenience, and once the dating relationship is no longer fun and exciting, the so-called “couple” will breakup and try to find someone ...

Day 3

A great question we all need to ask ourselves each day is this, “What or who do I passionately love?” We know God has commanded us to love Him, to love each other, and to love the lost. Today God tells us what we should NOT love. God does not want us to get hooked on loving money. We know we need finances to buy food, clothes, shelter and oth...

Day 4

In Hebrews 13:7, God wants us to remember those who have invested their lives and God’s Word into us. God also wants us to remember those who are currently investing their lives and God’s Word into us now. Those who have poured into our lives are to be thanked, prayed for, and encouraged by us. Without these mentors/disciplers, none of us wou...

Day 5

Today God the Father takes us back to the Tabernacle, in Hebrews 13:10-14, to remind us that true worship of Him does NOT happen at an altar made by men, but true worship happens by following our Lord Jesus Christ. The altar was in the Holy Place within the Tabernacle where the high priest brought the blood sacrifice of a lamb as an offering ...

Day 6

God definitely deserves ALL our praise and worship. God reminds us, in Hebrews 13:15, that we must continually, through Christ, praise, and thank our God. We have so much to thank God for and our lips need to speak thanksgiving to Him throughout the day. We must NEVER forget to share with those in need. When we share with the needy, it’s anot...
