Scripture to Read: Hebrews 13:15-19
God definitely deserves ALL our praise and
worship. God reminds us, in Hebrews 13:15, that we must
continually, through Christ, praise, and thank our God. We
have so much to thank God for and our lips need to speak
thanksgiving to Him throughout the day. We must NEVER
forget to share with those in need. When we share with
the needy, it’s another sacrifice of praise to our God. God
desires us to be used to minister to those in need and by
ministering to the needy, we recognize the abundance
that God has freely given us. Then God tells us to make
sure we obey our spiritual leaders (pastors, teachers,
evangelists, elders, deacons). Every spiritual leader God
has placed in our lives helps watch over the well-being of
our soul. God will hold us accountable for how we treat
our spiritual leaders. On the other hand, God will also hold
all spiritual leaders accountable for their stewardship of
our souls. God is the One who called each spiritual leader
to their place of service. Each spiritual leader needs to be
treated with the respect they deserve as God’s servant.
We must willingly follow our spiritual leaders so that they
have joy in their serving and not grief. If we cause our
spiritual leaders trouble, this will be of no benefit to us.
Finally, we need to pray for all believers that each of our
lives is lived honorably, so we represent our Lord well in
all we do and say.
Challenge & Application
1. What did God teach you today about praising Him,
sharing with others, how we treat our spiritual leaders,
and prayer?
2. Who do you know who is in need that you will you
share with this week?
Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!
