Aaron Harvie is the senior pastor of Highview Baptist Church. Prior to being called as senior pastor in June 2016, he served as interim East Campus Lead Pastor, in addition to his role as a Church Planting Mobilizer with the North American Mission Board and teaching at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has an extensive background in pastoring and planting churches in Kentucky and Philadelphia. Aaron and Allison have 5 children: John, Grace, Luke, Porter, and Claire. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Ouachita Baptist University in 1995 and a Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1998. He loves reading, golf, tennis, and Philly sports teams.
Jeff Goodyear serves as Highview’s Executive Pastor of Ministries. He started serving on the Highview staff as children’s pastor in the year 2000. Before joining the staff at Highview, he spent 14 years working as an engineer with GE Appliances. He is a graduate of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, The University of Tennessee, and the University of Kentucky. Jeff and his wife, Janna, were married in 1987 and are the parents of 3 children: William (1990), Paul (1995), and Christy (2006). Jeff enjoys spending time with his family, working on home maintenance and improvement projects, and occasionally, playing golf.
Chip Evans serves as the Executive Pastor of Operations. He holds his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from South Polytechnic State University, his Master of Arts in Missiology from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and his Master of Business Administration from Corban University. In his role, Chip provides oversight for all administrative functions for multiple campuses of Highview including: accounting, budgeting, human resources, facilities, food service and information technology. He and his wife, Paula, have three children: Mallory (1994) Grace (1996) and Avery (1999). For leisure, Chip enjoys snow skiing, kayaking, biking, college football, and reading.
Gene Dodson is a 35-year ministry veteran who serves as the Executive Pastor of Next Generation Ministries at Highview Baptist Church. His areas of interest include local church student ministry, church planting, and international missions. He and his wife, Tammy (1976), have have two adult children and three grandchildren.
Mark Bishop is the campus pastor of Highview Baptist Church Valley Station Campus. Prior to being called as campus pastor in January 2017, he served as a pastor in the Fort Knox area. Pastor Mark previously served in the United States Army as both a combat engineer and a chaplain. He has an extensive background in revival and revitalization churches around the country, holding revivals in several hundred Baptist churches. Mark and Kim have 3 children: McKenzie, Mark Wesley, and Mason. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Pensacola Christian College in 1998 and a Master of Missiology from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2015. Mark is projected to finish his Doctor of Missiology in December 2018. He loves reading, sports, hunting, and holding revivals.
Bob Melton is the Family Pastor at East Campus. Prior to becoming Family Pastor in 2016, he served as East Campus Adult Discipleship Pastor. He has broad experience serving the local church in Kentucky and Mississippi. Bob and Angie have 4 children: Zach, Brandon, Matthew, and Lydia. He earned his Master’s degree at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2010. Bob loves spending time with his family, serving the local church, and the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
Trey Ethridge is the Middle School Pastor at Highview’s Fegenbush campus. Trey received his Bachelor of Science in Christian Ministries with a concentration in leadership from Boyce College. He is currently pursuing his Masters of Arts in Christian Education from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Before taking on his current ministry position, Trey served as a student ministry intern at Highview’s East campus. Trey and his wife, Hailey, enjoy sports, Buffalo Wild Wings and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Marsha Boggs is the Kids Ministry Director at Highview’s Fegenbush campus. She and her husband, Brian, have two children-- Matthew, who was born in 1989, and Amanda, who was born in 1991. Marsha and Brian both enjoy golfing and attending sporting events.
Joshua Hardin is the Family and Student Pastor at Valley Station Campus. Prior to coming to Highview in 2017, he served for 10 years as the youth pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church in Radcliff, Kentucky, as well as being a teacher in history and Bible at North Hardin Christian School. He is working on his Master of Arts in Christian Education at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Cecilia, have been married and serving the Lord together since 2003 with their five children: DeAngelo (1996), Harvey (2008), Michael (2010), Gideon (2013), and Celia Bri (2015). Their passion is discipleship and family training in and around the church and community. He loves staying fit, playing and watching sports, and playing the occasional video game.
Cody Speck is the Middle School Student pastor at Highview's East campus. Cody is pursuing his a degree in youth ministry from Boyce College and will graduate in May 2016. Before taking on his current ministry position, he served as an intern in Highview's student ministry. He enjoys sports such as basketball, soccer, and volleyball.
Kori serves Highview as Girls Ministry Director across all campuses.
Larry Smith serves as the Minister of Recreation at Highview Baptist Church. He has his Master’s in Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Before working at Highview, Larry worked in pastoral roles Hunsinger Lane Baptist Church and Walnut Street Baptist Church. He and his wife, Joyce, have four children and many grandchildren. His hobbies include spending time with family and friends.
Stephanie Manwell is the Kids Ministry Director at East Campus. She and her husband Kevin have 4 children: Haley, Andrew, Cassidy, and Thomas. They have been at Highview since 2011 when their family moved to Louisville from Ankeny, Iowa. Stephanie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Spanish from the University of Northern Iowa. She worked for a large insurance company before staying home with the children. She enjoys reading and going for walks. Stephanie’s family loves taekwondo and together they run Mission Martial Arts at East Campus.
Peggy Patterson has served as Highview’s Childcare Coordinator since 2002. Before joing the staff at Highview, she spent 17 years teaching middle school for Jefferson County Public Schools. She is a graduate of Campbellsville College and the University of Louisville. Peggy and her husband Mark were married in 1992. They have 2 sons: Daniel (1994) and Andrew (1996). Peggy enjoys going to baseball games and golf.
Amy Yates serves as Resource Director for Preschool Ministry. She started serving on Highview staff in 2002. Before joining the staff at Highview, she enjoyed being a stay at home mom. Amy and her husband Mark were married in 1989 and are the parents of 2 children: Aaron (1996) and Juliana (2000).
Isaac Frasure serves at Highview’s Fegenbush campus as Lead Worship Pastor. In addition to receiving his Bachelors of Worship from Boyce College, Isaac’s previous ministry experience includes church planting and worship ministry at Canal Baptist Church and an internship at Highview. He has been on staff for six years. Isaac and his wife, Holly, married in 2008. They have two children, Evelyn (2010) and Raina-Grace (2015). In his spare time, Isaac enjoys coffee, fitness and family fun.
Luke serves as the worship pastor at Valley Station Campus.
Wesley Treadway serves as Worship Pastor for Highview’s East Campus. He earned his degree in Worship and Pastoral Studies from Boyce College. Previous ministry experience includes working as a worship leader for Life Action Ministries for two years. In his spare time, Wesley enjoys hiking, climbing, kayaking, coffee, and spending time with his wife, Annie (2015).
David Duncan serves Highview as leader over Senior Adults and Pastoral Care ministries. After 35 years of corporate experience, and many years as a lay leader at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, Florida, he answered God’s call to ministry. He received his Masters of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. David has been married to Susan for forty+ years. Together they have one daughter, Lauren. In David’s spare time, he enjoys trying to be the best grandad ever to his granddaughters.
Ruth McCoy serves Highview Baptist Church as the Director of Women's Minstry. She graduated from Boyce College in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Biblical Counseling. Ruth and her husband, Todd McCoy, have been married for 30 years. They have three children-- Matthew, who was born in 1988, Michael who was born in 1991, and Trevor, who was born in 1993. Since she was blessed with an all-male family, Ruth enjoys sharing conversations with women about the evidence of God’s work in their lives.
Scott is the discipleship pastor at Highview. He and his wife Caroline have been married since 2011. They have two daughters Eden (2013) and Elliana (2015). The Long family is passionate about making disciples of all nations through the local church to the glory of God.
Van Thompson is the College Pastor at Highview Baptist Church. Prior to coming on staff in this role, Van served as a campus ministry leader at East Campus. Van serves as college pastor bi-vocationally, working full time for a local manufacturing company. His wife, Stephanie, and two children are an integral part of his ministry as well. Van was a valedictorian of his graduating class at Campbellsville University in 2004, and he earned a Masters of Divinity in Biblical Counseling (another ministry passion of his) from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2015. He loves reading, and as a hobby Van and Stephanie run half and full marathons together wherever possible.
Gary Richmond serves as the Adult Discipleship Pastor at Highview Baptist Church. He has his Master of Arts in Christian Education from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and before coming to Highview, worked as a Christian school teacher and as a pastor at several churches in Virginia and Kentucky. Gary married his wife, Chris, in 2006. They have two children, Anyaejia “Ya-Ya”, who was born in 2006 and adopted in 2012, and Jeffrey, who was born in 1999 and adopted in 2013. Gary enjoys sports-- particularly the Kentucky Wildcats, WKU Hilltoppers and the Chicago Cubs-- and is passionate about teaching and seeing people grow as disciples.
John Klaassen is the Missions Pastor at Highview Baptist Church. John and his family served in North Africa for close to 20 years and currently serves as the Associate Professor of Global Studies at Boyce College in addition to his work at the church. With both boys grown, John and Shari dedicate their time to global projects both in the US and abroad. John earned his Bachelors degree in Education from Missouri Western State University, his MDiv and PhD from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
John serves as Pastor of La Respuesta, the hispanic ministry of Highview Baptist Church. John received his B.A. from Boyce college and is currently pursuing his Master of Divinity from Southern Seminary where he served as the Assistant to the Director of Intercultural Programs and Programa Hispano. He is happily married to Clara and together they enjoy reading, traveling and fishing.
David Bosch is the Global Director at Highview Baptist Church. In addition to his role at Highview he is a professor and the Business Program Coordinator at Boyce College. David has experience in strategy and finance with Fortune 500 companies, as well as extensive experience in consulting, entrepreneurship, business development, and non-profit work in the Middle East and Central America. David and Cynthia have two children: Natalia and Katherine. He earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Kentucky, an MBA from the University of Notre Dame, and a Ph.D. from Regent University. David loves being with his family, reading, and watching sports.
Ben is the local missions pastor of Highview Baptist Church. He has broad experience in planning missions opportunities and service projects to equip local churches in making disciples. Ben and Lindsey were married in 2010. They have 2 children: Judah (2014) and Ava (2016). He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Boyce College in 2009 and Master of Arts in Missiology from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2013. He loves creativity, new food experiences, basketball, and sporting events.
Ashley Lawrence works with First Impressions at Highview’s East Campus. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Union University. Ashley and her husband, Clint, have two children: Ellie, born in 2007, and Maggie, born in 2011. She enjoys taking time to spend with her family, read, play tennis, and cook.
Ann Vetter serves as Highview’s First Impressions Director at our Fegenbush Campus. She has over 20 years of ministry experience, specializing in children’s ministries. She has served on staff at Russell Cave Baptist Church in Lexington, Old Fort Baptist Church in South Carolina, and previously as Director of Preschool Ministry here at Highview. Ann and her husband, Scott, have six children and four grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with family, traveling, going to the movies, and cheering for the Kentucky Wildcats.
Benjamin serves Highview as the Director of Communications and is responsible for the print, web, and social media needs of our ministries. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Illinois and is working towards a Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Bonnie, live in Jeffersontown with their daughter, Piper (2014), and foster daughter (2015). Ben is an avid fan of Fighting Illini athletics and Chicago pro sports teams. His family attends East Campus.
Graham serves Highview as facilities director.
Rick Mead serves as the Technical Director at Highview Baptist Church. He graduated from Charleston Southern University with a degree in Youth Ministry. Prior to coming to Highview, Rick served as Student Minister at both Citadel Square Baptist Church and Isle of Palms Baptist Church. He and his wife, Ashley, have three sons, Micah (2009), Rafe (2014), and Cameron (2017). His hobbies include music, audio engineering, photography, gaming, and Lego-building.
Marbara Stivers serves as the manager of the Growing Strong Resource Centers at Fegenbush and East. She is also the Library Director for all campuses. She graduated from Campbellsville College (1975) and U of L (1978). A native Louisvillian, she has been at Highview since 1979. Marbara and her husband, Jordan, have two adult children: Andrew (1986) who lives in San Francisco and Emily (1987) who lives in New York City. Marbara and Jordan enjoy visiting their children, reading, trivia games, PBS, and nature hikes.
Jim serves Highview as Director of Foodservice.
Michael serves Highview as Director of Information Technology.
Rhonda Woodworth is the Human Resources Director at Highview Baptist Church. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Write State University in Ohio. After working in corporate HR for many years, then staying home while her children were young and volunteering in many capacities at Highview, she began working on staff at Highview in 2001. Rhonda and her husband, Steve, have lived in Louisville since 1996 and have three grown children, Jason, Sarah (married to Scott), and Leah, and one grandson, Rowan. Rhonda and Steve enjoy spending time with their family, working on home improvement projects, and looking for hidden treasures at flea markets.
Dawn serves Highview in the Finance office.
Tammy Dodson is part of the Financial Office at Highview Baptist Church. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas. She has spent most of her career working in Supply Chain and Procurement/Asset Management for companies in the Midwest, as well as working as the Volunteer Mobilization Coordinator at a church in Tennessee. Her passion is joining and supporting her husband, Gene Dodson, in Student Ministry. She has lived in Louisville since 2014 when God called Gene to serve as one of the pastors at Highview. Gene and Tammy have been married since 1976 and have two grown children, Ben, and Jackie (married to Aaron); and 3 grandchildren, A.J., Sydney, and Brady. Gene and Tammy enjoy visiting their family in the Midwest, hiking, exercising, cooking for the Student Interns, and going to movies.
Darlene is a ministry assistant and supports the Executive Pastor of Ministries at Highview Baptist Church. She has been on staff since 2004, and along with her husband, Darrell, has been a member of Highview since 1989. A graduate of Cumberland College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music, she has served in Music Ministry, Kids Ministry, and Student Ministry. Her other job experience has been in a family-owned wholesale business where she worked with her parents, her brothers, and their families for 21 years. She and Darrell have two sons, Jeremy (married to Julie) and Jonathan, and two grandchildren, Chloe and Noah.
Johnna Newton is the Ministry Assistant to the Senior Pastor, Aaron Harvie. She has been a member of Highview for over 25 years. She began working on staff at Highview in 1997. During her time on staff, she has worked in the Music Office and Senior Pastor’s Office. Johnna, and her husband, Kevin, have four children: Michael, Daniel (married to Emily), Jacob, and Sarah. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and reading.
Kimberly Cipkowski serves as Ministry Assistant at the East Campus of Highview Baptist Church.
Leslie Barnett serves as the Ministry Assistant for the Kids Ministry at Highview's Fegenbush Campus.
Nicole serves Highview as ministry assistant for the Music Office.
Sandi Carroll serves as receptionist at the Fegenbush Campus of Highview Baptist Church. She and her husband, Larry, have been members of Highview since 2011. They have two adult children Justin (Heather) Miles and Jarrod (Kristin) Carroll and seven cherished grandchildren. After retiring from a clerical position with JCPS, she began working at Highview in 2015. She enjoys painting, crafting, and cooking.
