Scripture to Read: Genesis 41:38-52
As we finish up this week, we must remember that Joseph had told Pharaoh in Genesis 41:33 “Now let Pharaoh look for a man discerning and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.” After hearing everything, Pharaoh’s response showed his trust in Joseph, and Pharaoh acknowledged what God had given to Joseph in Genesis 41:39-40, So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has informed you of all this, there is no one so discerning and wise as you are. 40 You shall be over my house, and according to your command all my people shall do homage; only in the throne I will be greater than you.” Today, in Genesis 41:46, God reveals that Joseph was 30 years old when he was brought before Pharaoh. That means Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers thirteen years earlier. Up to this point, we have no record of Joseph ever complaining or whining about his circumstances. God gives us the number of times that Joseph proclaimed to those around him that it was God who gave him the abilities to do what he had been able to do. Today, we also read how Joseph did just as God led him to do during the seven years of plenty. God's plan was being fulfilled. In Genesis 41:51-52, we read how God continued to take care of Joseph and blessed him with two sons. Genesis 41 ends with the people starting to cry out to Pharaoh for help, and Pharaoh led them to go to Joseph.

2. How are you dealing with the tests and trials of this life, and how are you serving God each day, even when it’s tough?
