Day 7

Scripture to Read: Genesis 41:38-52

As we finish up this week, we must remember that Joseph had told Pharaoh in Genesis 41:33 “Now let Pharaoh look for a man discerning and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.” After hearing everything, Pharaoh’s response showed his trust in Joseph, and Pharaoh acknowledged what God had given to Joseph in Genesis 41:39-40, So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has informed you of all this, there is no one so discerning and wise as you are. 40 You shall be over my house, and according to your command all my people shall do homage; only in the throne I will be greater than you.” Today, in Genesis 41:46, God reveals that Joseph was 30 years old when he was brought before Pharaoh. That means Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers thirteen years earlier. Up to this point, we have no record of Joseph ever complaining or whining about his circumstances. God gives us the number of times that Joseph proclaimed to those around him that it was God who gave him the abilities to do what he had been able to do. Today, we also read how Joseph did just as God led him to do during the seven years of plenty. God's plan was being fulfilled. In Genesis 41:51-52, we read how God continued to take care of Joseph and blessed him with two sons. Genesis 41 ends with the people starting to cry out to Pharaoh for help, and Pharaoh led them to go to Joseph.

Challenge & Application

1. What did God teach you today through Joseph’s life on how we are to face the trials of this life and serve Him completely? 2. How are you dealing with the tests and trials of this life, and how are you serving God each day, even when it’s tough?

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

So, last week we ended with Joseph being thrown into prison. Remember, he was wrongly accused by Potiphar’s wife of trying to take advantage of her sexually. We must choose to pass...

Day 3

Yesterday, we saw how God used Joseph to interpret the dreams that both the chief cupbearer and the chief baker had dreamed. Once Joseph finished interpreting the dreams, he asked the chief cupbearer for a favor. God’s Word records Joseph saying, in Genesis 40:14-15, “Only keep me in mind when it goes well with you, and please do me a kindnes...

Day 4

Joseph was still in prison, but God continued to move on Joseph’s behalf. Remember, Joseph had been sold into slavery at 17 years of age. At this point, we’re still not sure how many years Joseph has been in prison. God reveals to us today, though, that from the time the chief cupbearer was restored to his position in Pharaoh’s service, two m...

When Joseph came into Pharaoh’s presence, Pharaoh told Joseph, “I have had a dream, but no one can interpret it; and I have heard it said about you, that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.” So, Pharaoh le...

Day 6

God continually worked in and through Joseph because Joseph chose to follow God, even when his circumstances were far from perfect. As Joseph had been brought before Pharaoh, he was ready to be used by God again to share the interpretation God would give to him. So, Pharaoh shared his dreams with Joseph, hoping to get an answer to what his dr...
