Day 6

Scripture to Read: Genesis 41:25-37

God continually worked in and through Joseph because Joseph chose to follow God, even when his circumstances were far from perfect. As Joseph had been brought before Pharaoh, he was ready to be used by God again to share the interpretation God would give to him. So, Pharaoh shared his dreams with Joseph, hoping to get an answer to what his dreams meant. As only God could do, God gave Joseph the meaning of the two dreams. So, Joseph told Pharaoh that his dreams had the same meaning. Joseph, by God alone, told Pharaoh there was coming seven years of plenty in all the land, and then there would be seven years of famine. Joseph also told Pharaoh that God had repeated the dreams because God was letting Pharaoh know that God determined the matter and that He would bring all of this about quickly. Then God led Joseph to say to Pharaoh, in Genesis 41:33,“ Now let Pharaoh look for a man discerning and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.” God did not stop there, but He led Joseph to lay out the specific plan of harvesting and storing the grain during the seven years of plenty in Genesis 41:33-36, so Pharaoh would be able to take care of all the people. Pharaoh, of course, loved the plan. When we are willing to listen to God and follow His plan no matter what comes our way, we can rest and trust in Him and His perfect plan.

Challenge & Application

1. What did God teach you today about trusting Him and His handiwork in the plans He has for you? 2. How are you daily seeking God’s face and His Word so that you do not miss what He has planned for you each day?

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

Day 1

So, last week we ended with Joseph being thrown into prison. Remember, he was wrongly accused by Potiphar’s wife of trying to take advantage of her sexually. The awesome news is that God continued to use Joseph for His glory and praise, as we saw in Genesis 39:20-23, and that the Chief Jailer had given Joseph charge of many things while he wa...

We must choose to pass...

Once Joseph finished interpreting the dreams, he asked the chief cupbearer for a favor. God’s Word records Joseph saying, in Genesis 40:14-15, “Only keep me in mind when it goes well with you, and please do me a kindnes...

Day 4

Joseph was still in prison, but God continued to move on Joseph’s behalf. Remember, Joseph had been sold into slavery at 17 years of age. At this point, we’re still not sure how many years Joseph has been in prison. God reveals to us today, though, that from the time the chief cupbearer was restored to his position in Pharaoh’s service, two m...

As we saw yesterday, Pharaoh had his dreams and wanted to know what his dreams meant. So, Pharaoh asked to see Joseph immediately. When Joseph came into Pharaoh’s presence, Pharaoh told Joseph, “I have had a dream, but no one can interpret it; and I have heard it said about you, that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.” So, Pharaoh le...

Day 7

As we finish up this week, we must remember that Joseph had told Pharaoh in Genesis 41:33 “Now let Pharaoh look for a man discerning and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.” After hearing everything, Pharaoh’s response showed his trust in Joseph, and Pharaoh acknowledged what God had given to Joseph in Genesis 41:39-40, So Pharaoh said ...
