Day 2

Scripture to Read: Genesis 40:9-22

God wants us to be able to lead others to Him and His Truth just as God used Joseph to share truth with the chief cupbearer and the chief baker. As we know, God has given us His Holy Spirit and God has given us His Holy Word. God and His Word guide, direct, nourish, and protect us each day through His Holy Spirit in us. We must choose to passionately pursue our fellowship with Him and His Word so we grow and mature in Him and can be used by Him, just like He used Joseph. Today we read about the dreams and the interpretation God gave to Joseph about those dreams in Genesis 40:9-22. God used Joseph to provide the interpretation for both the chief cupbearer and the chief baker. The chief cupbearer was fully restored to his position in three days, on Pharaoh’s birthday. But, on the other hand, the chief baker was hanged, just as Joseph had interpreted. Let’s not miss the fact that Joseph did not water down, add to, nor take away from the interpretation God gave to him. Joseph shared God’s truth, even when it was probably difficult to share the truth God had given him for the chief baker to hear. As believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, God calls us to share His Truth with each other and those who do not have a relationship with Him yet. Even when we must lovingly rebuke another Christian, as hard as it may be, we must love them enough to share God’s Truth with them to help them.

Challenge & Application

1. What did God teach you today about sharing His Truth with others, even when it is hard to do so? 2. How has God used you in other people’s lives to share His Truth with them? Ask Him for more opportunities each day (Colossians 4:3-4).

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

Day 1

So, last week we ended with Joseph being thrown into prison. Remember, he was wrongly accused by Potiphar’s wife of trying to take advantage of her sexually. The awesome news is that God continued to use Joseph for His glory and praise, as we saw in Genesis 39:20-23, and that the Chief Jailer had given Joseph charge of many things while he wa...

Day 3

Yesterday, we saw how God used Joseph to interpret the dreams that both the chief cupbearer and the chief baker had dreamed. Once Joseph finished interpreting the dreams, he asked the chief cupbearer for a favor. God’s Word records Joseph saying, in Genesis 40:14-15, “Only keep me in mind when it goes well with you, and please do me a kindnes...

Day 4

Joseph was still in prison, but God continued to move on Joseph’s behalf. Remember, Joseph had been sold into slavery at 17 years of age. At this point, we’re still not sure how many years Joseph has been in prison. God reveals to us today, though, that from the time the chief cupbearer was restored to his position in Pharaoh’s service, two m...

Day 5

As we saw yesterday, Pharaoh had his dreams and wanted to know what his dreams meant. So, Pharaoh asked to see Joseph immediately. When Joseph came into Pharaoh’s presence, Pharaoh told Joseph, “I have had a dream, but no one can interpret it; and I have heard it said about you, that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.” So, Pharaoh le...

Day 6

God continually worked in and through Joseph because Joseph chose to follow God, even when his circumstances were far from perfect. As Joseph had been brought before Pharaoh, he was ready to be used by God again to share the interpretation God would give to him. So, Pharaoh shared his dreams with Joseph, hoping to get an answer to what his dr...

Day 7

As we finish up this week, we must remember that Joseph had told Pharaoh in Genesis 41:33 “Now let Pharaoh look for a man discerning and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.” After hearing everything, Pharaoh’s response showed his trust in Joseph, and Pharaoh acknowledged what God had given to Joseph in Genesis 41:39-40, So Pharaoh said ...
