Day 6

Scripture to Read: Colossians 1:22

We know what we used to be, but now that we’ve surrendered to Christ, we’re different. God had Paul write this in Colossians 1:22: “yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach.” God reminds us that Christ Himself reconciled us (reunited us, brought us back) into a perfect union with God the Father by surrendering His fleshly body to be tortured and then hung on a cross to die to pay the full price for all sins, for all time, for you and me. For everyone who surrenders to Christ as Lord, Christ will present us before God the Father as holy, blameless, and beyond reproach. People often wonder what it will be like to stand before the throne of God one day, and God lovingly gives us a beautiful picture of how He will see us because of all that Christ has done for us. Christ will be the one to present us to God the Father. We will be seen as completely holy, having no faults whatsoever, and having nothing to be brought against us. God had Paul describe us this way in Ephesians 5:27, “…having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.” We don’t see ourselves as holy and blameless and beyond reproach because we know how ugly our flesh is and that we must crucify our flesh daily. But God sees us through Christ, and we must do the same and live fully for Him now.

Challenge & Application

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

Day 1

God loves us so much that He came in the Person of Jesus, revealing Himself in bodily form, and He laid down His life for the entire human race. God led Paul to describe our Lord Jesus Christ to the believers in Colossae in Colossians 1:15–20. We read in Colossians 1:15, “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.” G...

Day 2

When we consider God’s creation, it is magnificent and truly displays God’s power, glory, and majesty. We read in Psalm 19:1, “The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.” Then, we also read in Isaiah 6:3, “And one called out to another and said, ‘Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of hosts, t...

Day 3

God is eternal; therefore, He has no beginning and there will never be an end to Him. God had Paul write it this way in Colossians 1:17: “He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” It’s hard for us to imagine God having always been, because we live by time. We measure our days, weeks, months, and years by time. We wear a w...

Day 4

God the Father, Son, and Spirit are Three but also One. We read in Colossians 1:19, “For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him.” God the Father was pleased for all of His fullness, all of His perfection, all of His powers, and all of His attributes to permanently live in Christ the Son. When Jesus came to eart...

We read in Colossians 1:21, “And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds.” The description i...

Day 7

Many people hear the Gospel of Christ and are initially excited about being saved from their sin. But the sad news is that many never truly surrender to Christ because they are unwilling to die to themselves and live fully for Christ. God had Paul give a warning as we read in Colossians 1:23, “if indeed you continue in the faith firmly establ...
