Scripture to Read: 2 Thessalonians 1:12
Well, today we finish up 2 Thessalonians, and we find that our lives are to bring glory to our Lord Jesus Christ. We discussed this some in yesterday’s devotion, but what is interesting is that we are to be glorified in Christ too. This all happens because of the grace that God the Father has given us through our Lord Jesus Christ. To glorify our Lord through our lives, we must have a full realization of how rich His grace and mercy are toward us every day. God lovingly explains His grace and mercy in Ephesians 2:4-5 “But God, being [so very] rich in mercy, because of His great and wonderful love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were [spiritually] dead and separated from Him because of our sins, He made us [spiritually] alive together with Christ (for by His grace—His undeserved favor and mercy—you have been saved from God’s judgment).” (Amplified Version). What God has done for us through our Lord Jesus Christ is so wonderful that it ought to cause us to constantly, passionately pursue Him and His Word. As we pursue Christ, we are continually transformed by His Spirit in us. Therefore, because of His work in us, our choices reflect Him and we bring glory to Him through everything we do and say. This is still an act of our will, choosing to be surrendered to our Lord so that we do glorify Him. Let’s be sure we choose Him and His Word daily and therefore, choose to glorify Him through our lives.
