Day 5

Scripture to Read: 2 Thessalonians 1:10

When our Lord Jesus Christ returns for His bride (the church, every believer still here on earth when He returns), that day will be a glorious day indeed. Our Lord Jesus Christ will be fully glorified through every believer past, present, and those who surrender to Him before He returns. For Christ to be glorified through His saints means that Christ will receive all of the glory for the transformed lives of those who have surrendered to Him as Lord and Savior. No doubt, our Lord Jesus Christ deserves all of the glory; that is why our lives should be lived each day to glorify Him now. Something else that will happen when Christ returns for His bride is that we, as His bride, will absolutely marvel at His glorious presence. We will be in awe when we see our Lord because of His majesty and glory. We cannot even imagine how wonderful and awesome that day will be when we finally see our Lord and see ourselves for who we really are in Him. As God led Paul to write to the Thessalonian believers, God was letting those believers know that they were included in His family because they believed the testimony of God shared through Paul and Silas. For all of us who have believed God’s Truth about our Lord Jesus Christ, we too will be included in that glorious day. Let’s be sure and tell others about our Lord and His return, for the glorious day of our Lord’s return could come at any time.

Challenge & Application

1. What did you learn today about Christ’s return and about His bride? 2. How will you live life from this day forward, knowing Christ could come back at any time for His bride?

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

Day 1

God is sovereign, which means He is completely in charge of all things. Sometimes it is hard for us to understand that God is in charge because of all the evil and suffering in this world. The problem is not with God, but the problem is when we start thinking that this world is our home and that this world ought to be better than what it is. ...

Day 2

Our Lord God Almighty is going to have the final word in all things one day. For all of us, as Christians, there are times when we would like God to go ahead and have that final word right now. Now, to look for our Lord’s return ought to be something we long for, so that is not a bad thing. God tells us in Titus 2:13 that we need to be “looki...

Day 3

God’s judgment is not a subject that is talked about much today. We speak a lot about God’s grace, mercy, love, forgiveness, compassion, kindness, etc…but not about His judgment. God the Father does give us, through our Lord Jesus Christ, His incredible grace, mercy, love, forgiveness, compassion, kindness, etc…but His judgment is going to be...

Day 4

As we saw in yesterday’s devotion, God is going to pour out His judgment on everyone who chooses not to surrender to Him nor obey Him. We know that every lost soul is separated from God for all eternity, which is horrible enough. But God continues in 2 Thessalonians 1:9 to explain to us that every lost soul will suffer from eternal destructio...

Day 6

There is no doubt that God is constantly working in and through every believer on the face of the earth. We can know God is working in all believers because He confirms it in His Word in Ephesians 2:10, “ For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” So, every...

Day 7

Well, today we finish up 2 Thessalonians, and we find that our lives are to bring glory to our Lord Jesus Christ. We discussed this some in yesterday’s devotion, but what is interesting is that we are to be glorified in Christ too. This all happens because of the grace that God the Father has given us through our Lord Jesus Christ. To glorify...
