Day 4

Scripture to Read: 2 Thessalonians 1:9

As we saw in yesterday’s devotion, God is going to pour out His judgment on everyone who chooses not to surrender to Him nor obey Him. We know that every lost soul is separated from God for all eternity, which is horrible enough. But God continues in 2 Thessalonians 1:9 to explain to us that every lost soul will suffer from eternal destruction because they are separated from God and the glory of His power. God says it this way, about what the lost will suffer from, in Philippians 3:19 “whose end is destruction, whose god is their appetite, and whose glory is in their shame, who set their minds on earthly things.” We must not miss that lost people are making a deliberate choice to turn their backs on God. We see clearly in Philippians 3:19 three choices that lost people make. First, lost people allow their lustful appetite to be their god. Lost people choose to follow their fleshly desires and to do whatever they feel like doing. Second, lost people have no shame in what they choose to do. Lost people find glory in their shameful actions and words. Third, lost people set their minds on the things of this world. The passion of a lost person is to get all this world has to offer because they believe that this world, and all that is in this world, is the only reason they have to live. This is why we must live for Christ and share Him with every lost person here on earth.

Challenge & Application

1. What did God teach you today about lost people and their choices? 2. Pray Colossians 4:3-6 asking God for opportunities to share Him with the lost people around you?

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

Day 1

God is sovereign, which means He is completely in charge of all things. Sometimes it is hard for us to understand that God is in charge because of all the evil and suffering in this world. The problem is not with God, but the problem is when we start thinking that this world is our home and that this world ought to be better than what it is. ...

Day 2

Our Lord God Almighty is going to have the final word in all things one day. For all of us, as Christians, there are times when we would like God to go ahead and have that final word right now. Now, to look for our Lord’s return ought to be something we long for, so that is not a bad thing. God tells us in Titus 2:13 that we need to be “looki...

Day 3

God’s judgment is not a subject that is talked about much today. We speak a lot about God’s grace, mercy, love, forgiveness, compassion, kindness, etc…but not about His judgment. God the Father does give us, through our Lord Jesus Christ, His incredible grace, mercy, love, forgiveness, compassion, kindness, etc…but His judgment is going to be...

Our Lord Jesus Christ will be fully glorified through every believer past, present, and those who surrender to Him before He returns. For Christ to be glorified through His saints means tha...

Day 6

There is no doubt that God is constantly working in and through every believer on the face of the earth. We can know God is working in all believers because He confirms it in His Word in Ephesians 2:10, “ For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” So, every...

Day 7

Well, today we finish up 2 Thessalonians, and we find that our lives are to bring glory to our Lord Jesus Christ. We discussed this some in yesterday’s devotion, but what is interesting is that we are to be glorified in Christ too. This all happens because of the grace that God the Father has given us through our Lord Jesus Christ. To glorify...
