Scripture to Read: Hebrews 11:20-22
It’s truly amazing to consider how God
used ordinary people for bigger than life ministries to
carry out His perfect will. Too often, we see ourselves as
useless and insignificant for the work in God’s Kingdom.
But, God has chosen each one of us for a particular area
of ministry in which He desires us to fulfill His work for
His glory and praise. God makes this so clear in Ephesians
2:10, Titus 2:14; Titus 3:8; Titus 3:14; 1 Peter 3:13; 1 Peter
4:10-11 and, of course, many other Scriptures as well.
What we must do is walk in the faith God has given us and
trust Him even when our circumstances may not make
sense. God used Isaac to provide a blessing to Jacob and
Esau, and even though Esau was the older God led Isaac
to bless Jacob for His work and will. God used Jacob to
carry out His work and give a blessing to the sons of Joseph.
God knew the plans He had for Joseph and his sons
and God used Jacob to help set the foundation for God’s
work in and through them. God used Joseph in miraculous
ways in Egypt even though Joseph’s circumstances
with his family seemed pretty bleak for a while. God had
a plan for Joseph all along and because Joseph placed all
his faith in God, God was able to use Joseph wonderfully.
God desires to use all of us; we must put our faith into
action so we carry out His will.
