Scripture to Read: Genesis 2:4
This week we get to walk through the rest of Genesis 2. Despite already discussing man’s creation in Genesis 1, God has Moses (the writer of Genesis) refer back to the creation of man in Genesis 2. We must never forget that ALL of life and creation are a result of God’s handiwork. God has Moses write this in Genesis 2:4 These are the generations of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens. So, God clearly shows in Genesis 2:4 that ALL power, authority, and creation comes from Him ALONE! The fact that God has manifested Himself as Father, Son, and Spirit helps us understand that our Lord Jesus Christ is Creator of all. God had John and Paul write that all creation came through our Lord Jesus Christ in John 1:3, Romans 11:36, 1 Corinthians 8:6, Colossians 1:15-17, and many other Scriptures. What God has Moses do in Genesis 2 is to give us a deeper explanation as to how and why He created man and woman in His image. The details shared by God in Genesis 2:4-25 emphasize how important His design and purpose are for mankind. We must never miss the fact that God created us because He is the One Who desires fellowship with us. God did not need us because He has always had perfect fellowship with Himself as Father, Son, and Spirit. Nevertheless, He created us in His image, which is an incredible gift from Him.

2. Who can you share with this week the fact that God created them to have fellowship with Him and that He has purpose for them?
