Scripture to Read: Exodus 26:15–37
In Exodus 26:15–37, God gives Moses all the details for the walls of the Tabernacle, as well as the veil within the Tabernacle separating the Holy place from the Holy of Holies, and even the screen for the doorway into the Holy place. Every intricate detail was given to Moses so that God’s Tabernacle would be ready for the priests to offer up sacrifices to God and for the people to know that God was in their midst. We see in Exodus 26:31 that God also had the cherubim woven into the veil that separated the Holy of Holies from the Holy place. The Holy place was the larger room that contained the table of showbread, the golden lampstand, and the altar of incense. The second room was the Most Holy place, or the Holy of Holies, and it contained the Ark of the Covenant, or the Ark of the Testimony because it held the Ten Commandments God had given to Moses. The veil was a barrier—and we don’t know this from Exodus 26 but we know this from later Scriptures—that no priest could go into the Most Holy place except the high priest. The high priest could only enter once a year and that was on the Day of Atonement. The high priest would take the blood of an unblemished lamb to atone for the sins of the people, including his own. Thankfully, Jesus, with His own blood, entered the Most Holy Place for all time, for all mankind, and He paid the full price, offering eternal redemption to all (Hebrews 9:12). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_MbQH3RqgM
