Day 6

Scripture to Read: 1 Timothy 2:6

As we saw in the devotion on Day #4, God, in His incredible lovingkindness, mercy, and grace, desires the entire human race to be saved. God also desires every born-again believer to know Him as intimately as possible. We continue in this good news today as we read 1 Timothy 1:6. God reminds us that Christ gave Himself as a ransom (a substitutionary sacrifice, payment made to release a prisoner, to restore to freedom) for everyone who willingly surrenders to Him as Lord and Savior. Christ paid the full price for every sin that has ever been committed or will ever be committed. Christ also came at the exact and proper time that God intended. God says it this way in the NLT in Galatians 4:3-5, “And that’s the way it was with us before Christ came. We were like children; we were slaves to the basic spiritual principles of this world. 4 But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law. 5 God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children.” When we consider that God’s timing is always perfect, we can also rest in the fact that God will send Christ back at the perfect time to get His bride, the church. While we wait for our King’s return, we must passionately pursue Him and His Word and walk in obedience to Him every day.

Challenge & Application

1. What did God teach you today about Christ’s sacrifice for your sin and about God’s timing? 2. How are you living each day to show your incredible gratefulness to God for His forgiveness through Christ’s sacrifice?

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

Day 1

This week, our focus is going to be on 1 Timothy 2:1-8. We are focusing on prayer as a church but also as individuals. God clearly tells us in 1 Timothy 2:1 that we are to pray for all people. As we pray, God tells us that we need to intercede on behalf of all people and that we are to give thanks for all people. One thing we ought to pray ea...

Day 2

God continues to challenge us in our prayer lives. As we read 1 Timothy 2:2, we are to specifically pray for all kings and all who are in authority. God does not tell us to pray for those in authority whom we like. God also does not tell us to pray for those in authority we agree with or are Christians. God tells us to pray for all who are in...

Day 3

As we continue our walk through 1 Timothy 2:1-8, we read in 1 Timothy 2:3 that a result of praying for all people and praying for those in authority is that it “is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior.” God loves when we, as His children, obey Him and His Word. When we know that something is good and acceptable in the sight of G...

Day 4

We read some incredibly good news today. In 1 Timothy 2:4, God makes it perfectly clear that He desires everyone to be saved! Some people teach a false doctrine today, that God has chosen some to be destined for heaven and others hell. The mindset that God would choose to create people so that He could send them to hell is absolutely horrible...

Day 5

God has always been One, and He has always existed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. No one has ever seen God and we know this because God tells us this in John 1:18, John 6:46, 1 John 4:12, and 1 John 4:20. But God lovingly revealed Himself through our Lord Jesus Christ, and we know this because Christ said, in John 14:6-7, Jesus *said to him...

Day 7

We finish up 1 Timothy 2:1-8 today as we read 1 Timothy 2:7-8. We find that God led Paul to remind Timothy that Paul had been appointed/chosen by God to be a preacher and an apostle. As we have seen in earlier devotions, we know that an apostle is someone who actually saw our Lord Jesus Christ in His risen body from the grave. Therefore, we a...
