Scripture to Read: 1 Timothy 2:4
We read some incredibly good news today. In 1 Timothy 2:4, God makes it perfectly clear that He desires everyone to be saved! Some people teach a false doctrine today, that God has chosen some to be destined for heaven and others hell. The mindset that God would choose to create people so that He could send them to hell is absolutely horrible and dishonors our King in so many ways. When God came to earth through our Lord Jesus Christ, He came to die for the entire human race. God confirms this truth, that He desires all to be saved throughout His Word. Here are just a few Scriptures to examine in light of 1 Timothy 2:4 (Ezekiel 18:23, Ezekiel 18:32, John 3:17, 1 Timothy 4:10, Titus 2:11, 2 Peter 3:9). We have to guard against believing the false doctrine that God has destined some for hell and some for heaven. There is no doubt that many will end up in hell, but that will be because they have chosen to reject God’s gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. People will not end up in hell because God made sure their hearts remained unrepentant. God not only desires everyone to be saved, but once we come to know Christ as Lord and Savior, God also wants us to know and understand His Truth. God has given us His Spirit and His Word so that we can know and understand His Truth. Let’s never take it for granted.
