Scripture to Read: Romans 5:15
Many verses in God’s Word stand out with God’s glorious majesty, grace, love, mercy, and more. We know it’s God’s Word and that all of it is powerful because it’s God’s Word. But we also know that some verses are packed with “good news,” which is what we have today. In the Amplified version of God’s Word, we read in Romans 5:15, “But the free gift [of God] is not like the trespass [because the gift of grace overwhelms the fall of man]. For if many died by one man’s trespass [Adam’s sin], much more [abundantly] did God’s grace and the gift [that comes] by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, overflow to [benefit] the many.” God does not want us to miss that His gift of grace “overwhelms” what we inherited from Adam. When we fully grasp all God the Father has provided for us through Christ, we cannot hold back the enthusiasm, excitement, exuberance, and sheer joy! If we’re not overjoyed by all God has done, we have allowed the circumstances of life to rob us of His joy! Christ’s gift of forgiveness and life is offered to every person. God has chosen to use us (His children) to share His “good news” with everyone so that all people have an opportunity to receive this incredible gift offered to them by God the Father through Christ. God’s gift is free because Christ already paid for it through His life, death, burial, and resurrection. People have difficulty understanding God’s gift through Christ, but don’t lose heart, for God’s not done (Galatians 6:9).
