Day 7

Scripture to Read: Romans 3:21–23

This week God has taught us much about the human race’s desperate need to surrender to Christ as Lord. The sinfulness of humankind is evident all around us, and the only cure for sin is Christ’s blood that was shed to pay the price for the penalty of sin. As we finish with Romans 3:21–23, God tells us that His righteousness has been revealed apart from the Law. In other words, God has shown us how to be made right with Him since there is no way anyone can keep His entire Law. God revealed His gift of salvation to the entire human race through Jesus Christ our Lord. The righteousness God requires us to have to be made right with Him comes through us placing our faith in Jesus Christ alone. Faith means that we choose to cling to Christ, trust in Christ, and rely on Christ. Everyone must choose to place their faith in Christ because everyone has sinned and continually falls short of God’s awesome glory. Unfortunately, many people believe they can work their way into God’s favor. Almost every counterfeit religion is based on a “works salvation.” The counterfeit religions focus on what the human race must do to be made right with God. But God, through His abundant grace and mercy (Ephesians 2:4–5), shows the human race that salvation from our sin is a gift from Him through us surrendering to Christ as Lord of our lives. As Christians, we know God’s Truth, and God has called us to share His Truth so everyone has the opportunity to know Him.

Challenge & Application

· What did God teach you today about His gift of salvation? · How are you sharing God’s Truth with others so that they might know Him as you do?

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

Day 1

As we begin, we have to do a little recap from our last devotion. We must remember that God’s Word was not written in chapters and verses, but much of God’s Word, especially the New Testament, was written as letters to believers. Remember that in Romans 3:8, some people were slandering Paul, saying Paul had taught them that they should do evi...

Day 2

Over the next few days, we will unpack what God led Paul to write in Romans 3:10–18. What’s unique and awesome about God is that He had Paul quote directly from the following verses in the Old Testament: Psalms 14:1–3; Psalms 53:1–3, Psalms 5:9, Psalms 140:3, Psalms 10:7, Isaiah 59:7, and Psalms 36:1. As we look at each of these verses in Rom...

Day 3

Today our focus is on Romans 3:13, as God continues to paint the bleak picture of the human race. We must remember that Paul penned Romans about 2,000 years ago, and the verses in Psalms were penned around 500 to 1,000 years before Romans was written. Now, why is it important to remember when these books of the Bible were written? Because we ...

Day 4

As we examine God’s Word and all He’s communicating with us, God had Paul quote from Psalms 10:7 and Isaiah 59:7 in Romans 3:14–15. It’s incredibly painful to see how devastating sin is in each human being’s life. We know that sin results in death (Romans 5:12, Romans 6:23, Romans 6:16, Romans 8:6, Galatians 6:8), but that does not stop peopl...

Day 5

Today we finish up the quotes from the Old Testament in Romans 3:10–18. But this last quote from Psalms 36:1 is another strong indictment against the sinfulness of the entire human race. God says in Psalms 36:1, Transgression speaks to the ungodly within his heart; There is no fear of God before his eyes. God states that every human’s sinfuln...

Day 6

We ended yesterday with the full understanding that there is no fear of God among the human race, and that is why people choose to walk in their sin. God reminds us today, in Romans 3:19, that His Law was given so that no one could have an excuse for sinning. God’s Law points out the fact that the entire human race is sinful. A great example ...
