Scripture to Read: Romans 3:14–17
As we examine God’s Word and all He’s communicating with us, God had Paul quote from Psalms 10:7 and Isaiah 59:7 in Romans 3:14–15. It’s incredibly painful to see how devastating sin is in each human being’s life. We know that sin results in death (Romans 5:12, Romans 6:23, Romans 6:16, Romans 8:6, Galatians 6:8), but that does not stop people from choosing to walk in the fullness of their flesh (Galatians 5:16–17). God says today, in Romans 3:14–17, “Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness”; 15 “Their feet are swift to shed blood, 16 Destruction and misery are in their paths, 17 And the path of peace they have not known.”. God says it this way in Psalms 10:7; His mouth is full of curses and deceit and oppression; Under his tongue is mischief and wickedness. Then God says in Isaiah 59:7, Their feet run to evil, and they hasten to shed innocent blood; Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity, devastation and destruction are in their highways. God says that our mouths are full of curses apart from Christ. God warns us, as believers, that our mouths must not continue in our old way but that our words must give His grace and that lies are not to come from our lips (Ephesians 4:25, Ephesians 4:29, Colossians 3:9, Colossians 4:6). As the wicked run toward evil, God tells us to flee from it (1 Timothy 6:11, 2 Timothy 2:22). We must walk in His Truth.
