Day 7

Scripture to Read: Joshua 2

As we finish out this week, we have learned a lot about our own lives through the life of Rahab. Read back through Joshua 2 and Joshua 6:22-25 as a reminder of God’s faithfulness to Rahab. Spend some time today listing out all the ways you have seen God work faithfully on your behalf and on behalf of your family and friends. This is a good exercise because often, amid our tests and trials each day, we can easily forget all that God has done, is doing, and even what He’s continuing to do on our behalf. A great reminder is found in James 1:17, “Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.” When we consider just this one Scripture passage, James 1:17, it is humbling to know that every good thing we have is from God. We often think that we somehow contributed to that good thing or that we gave that good thing. But the reality for all of us is that apart from God, we have nothing good to offer Him, nor anyone else. Apart from a relationship with Christ, we are dead in our sin. There has never been a time when a deceased person did anything for someone else. We might say, “But a dead person’s organs were used to help someone else.” This is true, but the dead person did not accomplish that task. God used people with talents He gave them to perform His good work.

Challenge & Application

1. What did God teach you today about all He has done for you and is still doing for you? 2. How will you live your life differently knowing that everything good comes from our Heavenly Father?

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

Day 1

God’s plan of redemption has been laid out, even before the foundation of the world. At times, we as believers can think that redemption only started through Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. But God has been redeeming the lost since sin entered Adam and Eve in Genesis 3. Rahab is another individual in the lineage of our Lord Jesus Ch...

Day 2

Today we read Joshua 2:8-14. If we’re not careful, we can miss this incredible testimony that Rahab shares with the two spies. Rahab testifies how she, and all the people of the land, know that the Lord has given their land to the Israelites. Rahab also tells the two spies that the terror of the Israelites has fallen on all the people where s...

Day 3

As we read Joshua 2:15-24 we see the promise that the two Israelite spies made to Rahab and the guidance that Rahab gave to the spies to keep them safe. God’s handiwork in our lives is incredible. God’s work in and through Rahab was incredible too. As we know, Rahab was a prostitute and would have been considered an outcast by the Israelite s...

Day 4

In Joshua 6, we find Joshua led by the Lord to take the city of Jericho. Make sure and read all of Joshua 6 to get the full picture of all God did for the Israelites. But our focus today is on Rahab and her families’ deliverance. Because Rahab was faithful to the two Israelite spies and kept them safe, Joshua made sure the promise the two spi...

Day 5

We switch gears a little today. Hebrews 11 is lovingly called the “Hall of Faith.” God led the writer of Hebrews to list many people who trusted God with all of their hearts to follow God as the One True God. One of the members of the “Hall of Faith” is Rahab. So, not only is Rahab part of the lineage of our Lord Jesus Christ, but she’s inclu...

Day 6

God lovingly reminds us that if we truly know Him, then our lives are going to be lived differently. As we read James 2:14-26 today, we find Rahab mentioned again in James 2:25. What God is revealing to us through Rahab, and of course Abraham, is that our faith must have action. Remember how Rahab, in Joshua 2, proclaimed to the two Israelite...
