Day 3

Scripture to Read: Colossians 2:9–10

God reminds us throughout His Word that Jesus is God in the flesh and that through Christ we have all we need to live this life for Him and His glory. God had Paul write in Colossians 2:9–10, “For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, 10 and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority.” There is so much beauty in all of God’s Word, but these two verses give us such a beautiful picture of Christ and what He has done for us. As Jesus walked this earth, He was 100% man, but He was also 100% God. God the Father had Paul confirm that Christ’s divinity was beautifully and completely expressed as He lived in His fleshly form on this earth. But then, God had Paul remind all believers that in Christ, because He is God, we have been made complete. There is nothing else we need in Christ. God, as He led Peter to write, had Peter write it this way in 2 Peter 1:3–4, “seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. 4 For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.” Knowing all that we have in Christ means our lives must reflect Christ, for He is King.

Day 1

Every Christian has been given so much through our Lord Jesus Christ. God gave Paul the opportunity to unpack some of the incredible gifts we have through Christ and what we must do because of what Christ has done for us. We read in Colossians 2:6–7, “Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 having been firmly r...

Day 2

Because we are Christians, we must daily walk with a guarded heart and mind. Our enemy, the devil and all of the spiritual forces of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12), would love to see us stumble and fall in our walk with our Lord (1 Peter 5:8). God therefore had Paul write this in Colossians 2:8, “See to it that no one takes you captive through p...

Day 4

We are all born with a sin-filled, carnal, fleshly nature called “the old man” in Romans 6. God wants us to understand what happened to the “old man” when we surrendered our lives to Christ as our Lord and Savior. We read in Colossians 2:11, “and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the bo...

Day 5

When Christ became our Lord and Savior, we were given a brand-new life through Him. We were changed by Christ, so we are to live this life according to the change Christ has made in us. Since our “old man” (our “old self”) was crucified, it was also buried, just as Christ’s body was buried for three days after His crucifixion. God had Paul wr...

Day 6

One of the most precious gifts we receive when we surrender to Christ as our Lord and Savior is the complete forgiveness of all of our sins. Most Christians never grasp this truth and therefore live in the guilt and shame of their past. But God had Paul write this in Colossians 2:13–14, “When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncir...

Day 7

God the Father worked miraculously on our behalf through our Lord Jesus Christ so that we could be in a right relationship with Him.
