Day 7

Scripture to Read: Romans 3:26

We finish up today examining why God the Father publicly displayed Christ. So, let’s get to it as we read Romans 3:26, “for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.” So, God also displayed Christ publicly to show the fullness of Christ’s righteousness. As we have seen all week, Christ is the only way to be made right in the presence of God the Father. Since we are all born with a sinful nature, we are born dead in our sin and separated from God. God, in Ephesians 2:1–3 and many other Bible passages, tells us what we were like before Christ, and, of course, this is what lost people are still like because they don’t have Christ. Here is what God’s Word says, “And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, 2 in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. 3 Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.” So, Christ is the only one who can justify us before God the Father. Christ cleansed us of our sin, so it’s through Christ that we’re justified so we can say it is “just as if I’d never sinned.”

Challenge & Application

What is the other reason God displayed Christ publicly and why is this important to us as Christians? How does knowing that Christ justified you before God the Father change the way you live for Him each day?

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

Day 1

We have the opportunity to dig deep into Romans 3:24–26 this week. God has so much to teach us, so it’s my prayer that none of us miss all that God has for us to learn from Him and His Holy Word. As we begin today, we must remember that God revealed the fullness of His righteousness to all mankind through our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 3:21). ...

Day 2

Yesterday God taught us about His righteousness and justification and how we have both of them through Christ our Lord. Both God’s righteousness and justification are freely given to every follower of Christ as gifts. The reason followers of Christ receive these gifts of righteousness and justification is because of God’s precious, undeserved...

Day 3

Today and tomorrow, we’re going to focus on “the redemption which is in Christ Jesus.” We live in a day and time where the word “redemption," or “being redeemed,” does not make sense to many people because we no longer live in a country where people are bought and sold as slaves. But it is sad to say that this is not so true in many countries...

Day 4

As we learned the definition of the word “redeem” yesterday, today we will unpack our redemption a little further. God’s Word makes incredibly clear that redemption can only be found through our Lord Jesus Christ. Every born-again believer has been purchased out of the slave market of sin. That means that all Christians are set free from bein...

Day 5

Today we begin to examine Romans 3:25 to see all that God the Father has done for us through our Lord Jesus Christ. We read that God publicly displayed our Lord Jesus Christ as the One and Only life-giving sacrifice for the sins of all people (past, present, and future). God’s Word says it this way in 1 John 2:2, “and He Himself is the propit...

Day 6

Today and tomorrow, we’ll examine why God the Father publicly displays Christ. We read today in Romans 3:25 that God the Father displayed Christ for all to see, to show beyond a shadow of a doubt that God the Father demands the punishment of all sin because of His righteousness. In other words, nothing unrighteous can come into the presence o...
