Day 4

Scripture to Read: Romans 15:14

>As we continue to examine the prayer that God led Paul to write, we see that God led Paul to remind the believers in Rome that they were full of goodness, not because they were good but because of Christ in them. God’s Word says in Romans 15:14, “And concerning you, my brethren, I myself also am convinced that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able also to admonish one another.” This is a great reminder that God has filled us, as followers of Christ, with this same goodness because His Holy Spirit lives in us. Our goodness is not based on anything we have done, but it is God’s goodness in us. The goodness God has given us is to be used to treat others like God treats us, with all grace, kindness, mercy, and love. God also had Paul remind all believers that we have His knowledge through Christ to be able to teach and reprove one another through His Truth. God had Paul write this in 1 Corinthians 1:4–5, “I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus, 5 that in everything you were enriched in Him, in all speech and all knowledge.” Christ has enriched us with Himself so that we have His Words and His knowledge to invest in each other. Since we have God’s knowledge, we must walk in His Truth and share His Truth out of the overflow of what God teaches us each day.

Challenge & Application

· Since God has filled us with His goodness, how are you putting His goodness to work in the lives of those around you? · How has God’s knowledge in you helped you mature as His child and helped others as you have shared this knowledge with others?

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

Day 1

Today, we get the beautiful reminder from God, through Paul, that Christ came for both the Jews and the Gentiles. God had Paul write in Romans 15:8–9, “For I say that Christ has become a servant to the circumcision on behalf of the truth of God to confirm the promises given to the fathers, 9 and for the Gentiles to glorify God for His mercy.”...

Day 2

As we saw yesterday, God’s plan has always been to offer salvation to the Jews and the Gentiles. So, let’s look deeper at what God offers us (as Gentiles) through Christ. No one deserves God’s grace and mercy, especially us Gentiles, but God wanted to make sure, as He led Paul to write to the Gentile believers in Rome, that they were part of ...

Day 3

God had Paul pray another prayer in Romans 15:13, “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” According to this prayer, we are reminded that God is our God of hope. Our hope in this life has nothing to do with anything this world has to offer us. Our ...

Day 5

God allowed Paul (in Romans 15:15–16) to write, “But I have written very boldly to you on some points so as to remind you again, because of the grace that was given me from God, 16 to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, ministering as a priest the gospel of God, so that my offering of the Gentiles may become acceptable, sanctified ...

Day 6

As we saw in yesterday’s devotion, God had Paul remind us how He had called Paul “to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles” (Romans 15:16). As God led Paul to continue, we read in Romans 15:17, “Therefore in Christ Jesus I have found reason for boasting in things pertaining to God.” God has called us to do the same, for we also have n...

Day 7

God used Paul in many miraculous ways as Paul served our Lord well in preaching the gospel to the Gentiles. We read at the end of Romans 15:19, “so that from Jerusalem and round about as far as Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ” and then in Romans 15:20, “I aspired to preach the gospel, not where Christ was already named, s...
