Day 2

Scripture to Read: Romans 15:23–24

God, in His sovereign work, leads and guides us to ministry opportunities every day. We need to have our hearts ready and our spiritual eyes open so we do not miss what God has in store for us to do. God makes it clear in Ephesians 2:10, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” So, God's works for us to accomplish are waiting on us to walk in each new day. God had used Paul in many unreached regions but then, God had other plans for Paul, as we read in Romans 15:23–24, “but now, with no further place for me in these regions, and since I have had for many years a longing to come to you 24 whenever I go to Spain—for I hope to see you in passing, and to be helped on my way there by you, when I have first enjoyed your company for a while.” God had revealed to Paul that where Paul had been serving, our Lord had drawn to a close and that God had opened a door for Paul to go to Spain, but we read that Paul had planned to make a stop through Rome on his way to Spain. The significance of God showing us this, in how He worked in Paul’s life, is for us to see that as we are on our way to serve our Lord; He may give us other open doors to walk through to fulfill other ministries along the way.

What current works of ministry has God got you accomplishing for His glory and praise? How have you seen God open up other doors of ministry as you were on your way to another ministry?

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

Day 1

As we ended last week, God challenged us to share the Good News with those who have not heard of Him yet. We were also challenged to pray Colossians 4:3–4 and seek out those opportunities to share Him, knowing and trusting that God will open up opportunities for us. As we start today, we read in Romans 15:22, “For this reason I have often bee...

Day 3

Today, before we get into the text, we need to understand that in Acts 16 & Acts 17, we find recorded the accounts of Paul, Silas, and Timothy planting churches in Macedonia. The churches God used these men to plant were in Philippi (Acts 16:12–40), Thessalonica (Acts 17:1–9), and Berea (Acts 17:10–14). In 1 Thessalonians, God used Paul to en...

Day 4

God has had us examining Paul’s ministry and how Paul had desired to go to Rome to meet his brothers and sisters in Christ there. God had Paul share with the believers in Rome that God was opening a door for him to be able to come to Rome but before getting to Rome, God had Paul go to Jerusalem. God had opened the door for Paul to go to Jerus...

Day 5

We have learned over the last several months, and even examined it more closely over these last few days, how Paul had this desire to go to Rome and meet his brothers and sisters in Christ. We all have had ministry opportunities offered to us where we had to say no because we were already involved in another ministry God had placed us into. A...

Day 6

Words of encouragement are incredibly important to us all. God had Paul write a quick word of encouragement to the believers in Rome in Romans 15:29, “I know that when I come to you, I will come in the fullness of the blessing of Christ.” God used Paul to tell the believers that he was sure that when he finally got to Rome to see his brothers...

Day 7

As we finish up today, we read how Paul asked for prayer in Romans 15:30–33, “Now I urge you, brethren, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God for me, 31 that I may be rescued from those who are disobedient in Judea, and that my service for Jerusalem may prove acceptable to th...
