Scripture to Read: Romans 1:16
As we continue to unpack Romans 1:16–17, we see today in Romans 1:16 that the gospel is for everyone, “to the Jew first and also to the Greek. God had Paul put this in His Word because many of the Jews believed that their Messiah was only coming for them. It was hard for them to even think about Gentiles being included in God’s Kingdom because Gentiles were considered un-redeemable. But, our Lord Jesus Christ did not just come for a special chosen few, but He came for the entire human race (John 3:16–17, Romans 5:8, Ephesians 2:4, 2 Thessalonians 2:16, 1 John 4:10, Revelation 1:5, Romans 8:32, 1 John 4:9, 2 Peter 3:9, 1 Timothy 2:3–4, Ezekiel 18:23, Ezekiel 18:32, 1 Timothy 4:10, Titus 2:11). Since Christ came to give His life for all mankind, we must be busy sharing Him with all mankind. Everyone deserves an opportunity to surrender to Christ as Lord. We must not fall into the trap of thinking that someone is un-redeemable, for when we do, we stop sharing Christ and become the judge over people. Christ commanded us to make disciples (Matthew 28:18–20), and, as we know, the word “disciple” means “follower.” We are seeking to lead others to follow our Lord Jesus Christ by surrendering to Him as Lord. Even though we see no redeeming qualities in someone, in God’s eyes, they are precious in His sight. So, let’s go share Christ!
