Scripture to Read: Psalm 8:9
Just as Psalm 8 started with praise and adoration to our Great God and King, God led David to end Psalm 8 the same way. We need to learn to practice our praise of our Lord each day. We have so much to praise our Lord for if we don’t do anything other than just praise Him for all of His awesome attributes. Some passages to use as we praise our Lord are as follows: Psalm 57:5, “Be exalted above the heavens, O God; Let Your glory be above all the earth.” Psalm 113:4, “The Lord is high above all nations; His glory is above the heavens.” Psalm 148:13, “Let them praise the name of the Lord, for His name alone is exalted; His glory is above earth and heaven.” Psalm 97:9, “For You are the Lord Most High over all the earth; You are exalted far above all gods.” Psalm 99:2, “The Lord is great in Zion, and He is exalted above all the peoples.” As we pray, we can speak to God in the first person and use these Psalms to praise and honor Him. God deserves our continual praise, so it will take some practice for those who have not done it in a while. These Scriptures from Psalms are just the beginning, for with a little more study of God’s Word, there are many other praise passages that we can pray to our Lord. This world has difficulty dragging us down into doubt, depression, and despair when we praise our King. Praise Him today!
