Day 5

Scripture to Read: Psalm 8:3–5

God’s creation is truly glorious because it shouts God’s creativity, wonder, and awe! God had David write this in Psalm 8:3–5, “When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained; 4 What is man that You take thought of him, and the son of man that You care for him? 5 Yet You have made him a little lower than God, and You crown him with glory and majesty!” Sometimes, if we’re not careful, we will read God’s Word and miss the beautiful Truth God is sharing with us. Think about the last time you paused to look up on a clear night and take in God’s heavens and the work of His fingers—the fact that God set in place the moon and the stars exactly where He wanted them. God is the greatest artist of all, and we miss the beauty of His art because we are too busy to gaze at His wonderful handiwork that’s all around us. God used David to give everyone a wake-up call to His wonderful creation and that we’re a part of it all. God, in all of His awesomeness and knowing He has always had perfect fellowship as Father, Son, and Spirit, decided to create us because He wanted to fellowship with us too. The fact that God made all of us in His image, a little lower than Himself, and crowned us with glory and honor—this is humbling and overwhelming at the same time. Oh, the wonder of God to include us in His creation.

God loves to display His glory, honor, and praise in the most unique ways. We read in Psalm 8:2, “From the mouth of infants and nursing babes You have established strength…” God uses children to declare His wonder and glory. When our Lord Jesus Christ walked the earth, we find this recorded in Matthew 21:14–16, “And the blind and the lame cam...

Day 7

Just as Psalm 8 started with praise and adoration to our Great God and King, God led David to end Psalm 8 the same way. We need to learn to practice our praise of our Lord each day. We have so much to praise our Lord for if we don’t do anything other than just praise Him for all of His awesome attributes. Some passages to use as we praise our...
