Day 4

Scripture to Read: Psalm 8:2

As God chooses to use the mouths of infants and babies to tell of His strength, God’s Word continues in Psalm 8:2, “…Because of Your adversaries, to make the enemy and the revengeful cease.” In this verse, God makes it known that He displays His strength in babes, infants, and others who are weak according to this world because as God uses them for His purpose, their praise silences the enemies of God. Satan and all of the rest of the spiritual forces of wickedness and darkness are shut down and silenced when God works so incredibly through those who are weak in this world. Just as the chief priests and the scribes in Matthew 21:14–16 were nothing more than pawns in the hands of the spiritual forces of wickedness, so too today the spiritual forces of wickedness and darkness use lost people to carry out their will (2 Timothy 2:26). How absolutely wonderful that God shuts up Satan and the rest of the demons by using those this world would never choose to exalt. That is why God tells us in James 4:6–7, “…Therefore it says, “God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” 7 Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” When we walk in total submission to our King, we are able to be used by Him in such miraculous ways that the devil runs away, tail tucked and absolutely shut down. Only God can make our enemies cease, but He loves to use us in the process.

We read in Psalm 8:2, “From the mouth of infants and nursing babes You have established strength…” God uses children to declare His wonder and glory. When our Lord Jesus Christ walked the earth, we find this recorded in Matthew 21:14–16, “And the blind and the lame cam...

Day 5

God’s creation is truly glorious because it shouts God’s creativity, wonder, and awe! God had David write this in Psalm 8:3–5, “When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained; 4 What is man that You take thought of him, and the son of man that You care for him? 5 Yet You have made him a...

Day 7

Just as Psalm 8 started with praise and adoration to our Great God and King, God led David to end Psalm 8 the same way. We need to learn to practice our praise of our Lord each day. We have so much to praise our Lord for if we don’t do anything other than just praise Him for all of His awesome attributes. Some passages to use as we praise our...
