Day 6

Scripture to Read: Psalm 1:5

No one likes to think about a day of judgment when God has the final word on everyone’s life. Those who live without a relationship with Christ hope that the day of judgment is not real or that it will not be as bad as they think it will be. As Christians, we do not need to fear the day of judgment because God the Father already poured out all of His wrath for all sins on our Lord Jesus Christ when Christ went to the cross to pay the penalty for all mankind’s sins. But those without Christ do have good reason to fear. God says in Psalm 1:5, “Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.” God makes it very clear that those who refuse His gift of eternal life through a relationship with Christ our Lord will suffer the consequences of their sin. People who reject God’s gift of salvation through Christ will be condemned for their sins at the time of judgment. Though the penalty for their sins was paid for through Christ’s blood, the lost of this world willingly refuse the gift and choose a life that says they will pay for their sin debt on their own. That means that those who choose to deny Christ as Lord have also decided to remain in their sin. There is no place for any sin in God’s kingdom; therefore, those who choose to live in their sin here will have no place among the godly in heaven.

Day 1

God used many writers to pen the Psalms; some writers we know, and others remain anonymous. For Psalm 1, the writer is unknown, though we know the author is God! God had the writer give us a contrast between someone who passionately pursues their fellowship with God and His Word and someone who pursues what the world offers. We read in Psalm ...

Day 2

The second part of Psalm 1:1 says that the blessed do not “stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers!” To “stand in the path of sinners” means to hang around with them and become a part of their culture. God wants all of His children to reach the lost with the Gospel of Christ. So, we must engage in meaningful relationship...

Day 3

There is something precious about the man or woman who receives God’s favor (blessing). God tells us in Psalm 1:2, “But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.” Take a moment and think hard about what you delight in. Some people find sheer delight in food; for others, it’s clothing; then there are tho...

Day 4

There are so many benefits to getting into God’s Word each day. God’s Word feeds us spiritually, so we’re continually growing in our walk with our Lord and deepening our intimacy with Him. God’s Word guides us to make daily life decisions based on His Truth and not on what might feel right for the moment. God's Word commands us to crucify our...

Day 5

There is a sharp contrast between Psalm 1:3 and Psalm 1:4. God gave us the beautiful picture in Psalm 1:1–3 of what it looks like for those who passionately pursue their intimacy with God through His Holy Word. But then God shifts to those who choose to have nothing to do with Him or His Word. We read in Psalm 1:4, “The wicked are not so, but...

Day 7

God knows the hearts of all mankind. God knows who truly belongs to Him and those who are still separated from Him because they refuse to surrender to Him as their Lord and Savior. As people, we cannot know with 100% certainty whether someone is a Christian or not—now, we can come close to knowing because even our Lord Jesus Christ tells us i...
