Scripture to Read: Psalm 1:3
There are so many benefits to getting into God’s Word each day. God’s Word feeds us spiritually, so we’re continually growing in our walk with our Lord and deepening our intimacy with Him. God’s Word guides us to make daily life decisions based on His Truth and not on what might feel right for the moment. God's Word commands us to crucify our fleshly desires and put on Christ's characteristics each day. God’s Word gives us everything we need to live this life to the fullest, not for ourselves but for our Lord as we serve Him and honor Him through everything we do, say, and think. God’s Word is the only Word that’s alive (Hebrews 4:12), and His Word breathes life into our souls. His Word also reveals to us hidden areas of our lives that God alone judges. God does not condemn us, but He desires to free us from the lies of this world. This world wants us to be held in bondage to the garbage it offers us each day, but through God’s Word, we see the riches He offers us compared to the world's garbage. When we are finding our delight in God and His Word, God tells us in Psalm 1:3, “He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.” The description God uses here in verse 3 ought to excite us and create in us an incredible hunger for Him and His Word!
