Day 5

Scripture to Read: Acts 1

As God uses us in the ministry of “multiplication,” there are times that we become a little fearful of sharing Christ with those we know who need Christ. But God does not want us slowed down and stopped by fear. God has given us some good news in His Word to be able to overcome all fear so that we fully carry out the ministry of “multiplication.” God wants us to know that we are never alone but that He is always with us because He lives in us. Jesus first clarifies this in Matthew 28:20, … I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Then Jesus clarified His ministry of “multiplication” through us even more in Acts 1:8, but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth. So, our Lord Jesus Christ did not want there to be any doubt about the ministry we’ve been called to do. Jesus told us what we are to do and that His Holy Spirit would give us the power we need to carry out the ministry of “multiplication.” The word “power” in Acts 1:8 is the Greek word, “dunamis,” which is where we get our English word, “dynamite.” God has given us the fullness of Himself so that we have nothing to fear as we carry out the ministry of “multiplication.” We just need to trust our Lord completely and crucify our fleshly fears.

Day 1

God has us focused on “multiplication” this week. As we learned last week, God has designed us to invest in others so that His fruit is multiplied in us and through us. On our Highview website, we read that “multiplication” involves us “seeking to multiply our lives and the gospel in others. We take the gospel to engage the lost where we live, work, and do recreation. As we see people come to know and follow Jesus, we invite them on the journey of discipleship to be disciples who will make more disciples.” T...

Day 3

We must fully realize God has called us to “multiplication.” As we share Him with the lost, God chooses to use us to transform their lives as they cross over from death to life. As we see lives transformed, the “multiplication” of His fruit coming forth is awesome! Because He’s called us to “multiply,” we should be further motivated to join H...

Day 4

As followers of Christ, we know God loves us and that He gives us His incredible grace, mercy, and forgiveness (Ephesians 2:4–7, Colossians 1:13–14, Colossians 2:13–14). But if we are going to fulfill the ministry of “multiplication,” we must believe that lost people NEED Jesus Christ. In John 17, our Lord Jesus Christ prayed to God the Fathe...

Day 6

As we continue to focus on the ministry of “multiplication,” we know prayer has to be a vital part of each day of our lives. God wants us in an attitude of prayer at all times to carry out the ministry of “multiplication” through His guidance in our lives. Prayer is similar to the way we use our cell phones. We constantly text, answer calls, ...

Day 7

Today is our final devotion on “multiplication.” We already know how important prayer is to our lives and to carrying out the ministry of “multiplication.” There are many Scripture verses on prayer. God’s Word tells us what prayer does for us and reminds us to pray. As we read Romans 8:26, God tells us that prayer is difficult for all of us. ...
