Day 7

Scripture to Read: Isaiah 9:7

This week we've examined the beautiful prophecy about our Lord Jesus Christ given by God the Father as He led Isaiah to pen these words in Isaiah 9. So, we end today with Isaiah 9:7, There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness from then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this. If God’s Word does not excite us, we are too full of the garbage of this world. The kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ will continually increase and will never end. If we are not careful, we'll miss the fact that there is also Christ's everlasting peace in His never-ending Kingdom. Remember, He is the Prince of Peace, so His peace will never end within His Kingdom. God wants us to experience His perfect peace even now as we walk with Him. His peace is available to us through our daily fellowship with Him (Philippians 4:6-7). The reign of our Messiah will not just be for 1,000 years through the millennium, but He will rule for all eternity. In Handel's Hallelujah chorus, we sing, "And He shall reign forever and ever," and He indeed will. Jesus will rule on David's throne, fulfilling God's marvelous covenant with David in 2 Samuel 7. All this may sound too good to be true, but God promised to fulfill His Word, so we can rest and trust in Him.

Day 3

Christ came into this world to save the people of the nation of Israel so that they could be His light to the rest of the world. God tells us in Isaiah 9:3, You shall multiply the nation, You shall increase their gladness; They will be glad in Your presence as with the gladness of harvest, as men rejoice when they divide the spoil. God’s plan...

Day 4

Remember that Isaiah 9 is a prophecy about our Lord Jesus Christ and what He would do when He came. Many people of the nation of Israel missed Christ because they were looking for a worldly king and not the eternal King of all kings. As God led Isaiah to continue, we read in Isaiah 9:4, For You shall break the yoke of their burden and the sta...

Day 5

Today we focus on Isaiah 9:5, which says, For every boot of the booted warrior in the battle tumult, and cloak rolled in blood, will be for burning, fuel for the fire. God was not only telling the nation of Israel that the battle would come to an end, but what a great reminder to us that the battle we are in today will eventually be no more. ...
