Scripture to Read: Hebrews 8:11
God definitely loves ALL mankind. There are Scriptures upon Scriptures declaring God’s love
for everyone made in His image. As we read Hebrews 8:11, it sounds like there’s coming a day when no one will need to teach anyone about God anymore. But that does not line up with Scripture. God gave equippers
to the church to teach and guide us as we mature in Christ. We see this most clearly in Ephesians 4:11-13, “And He gave some as apostles, and some as proph- ets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.” So, what does God mean in Hebrews 8:11? God is letting the Jewish Christians, who this letter was first written to, know that the message of salvation is for all mankind, and not limited just to the nation of Israel. God is confirming that there are going to be people from every tongue, tribe, and nation who will come to know Christ as Lord and Savior. The beauty of every nation being represented in God’s kingdom is that we, as God’s children, have been given the distinct privilege of shar- ing Christ now, so every nation can know Him and walk with Him.
