Scripture to Read: Exodus 4:10–12
Over the last three days, we have seen how God showed Moses His incredible power through the miracles God displayed before Moses. By this time, one would think that Moses would be ready to go to Egypt and be used miraculously by God. But Moses still struggled with looking too much at himself, even as he stood in the presence of God. Moses comes up with another excuse in Exodus 4:10, as Moses said to God, “Please, Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither recently nor in time past, nor since You have spoken to Your servant; for I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.” Moses was definitely not short on his list of excuses. Many Christians are a lot like Moses when it comes to serving our Lord for His kingdom and glory. Christians will focus so much on their shortcomings that they totally miss God’s power within them (Acts 1:8, Acts 4:31, 2 Peter 1:3–4). The Lord reminded Moses that He is Creator, for He said to Moses in Exodus 4:11–12, “Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes him mute or deaf, or seeing or blind? Is it not I, the Lord? 12 Now then go, and I, even I, will be with your mouth, and teach you what you are to say.” God could not have been more clear on what He had done and what He would do in and through Moses. God still does the same through us today when we trust in Him and not in ourselves.

· How has God taught you to trust Him, even when the situation has seemed overwhelming to you?
