Day 7

Scripture to Read: Exodus 39:32–43

As we prepare for worship with other believers today, we find ourselves at the end of Exodus 39. God tells us in Exodus 39:32, “Thus all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting was completed; and the sons of Israel did according to all that the Lord had commanded Moses; so they did.” Then, God says it once more in Exodus 39:42–43, “So the sons of Israel did all the work according to all that the Lord had commanded Moses. 43 And Moses examined all the work and behold, they had done it; just as the Lord had commanded, this they had done. So Moses blessed them.” What the Israelites had done was incredible, but remember, it was because God had given certain individuals His Holy Spirit so they could do what He commanded them to do. God also was the one who gave the Israelites favor with the Egyptians, as we see in Exodus 12:35–36, “Now the sons of Israel had done according to the word of Moses, for they had requested from the Egyptians articles of silver and articles of gold, and clothing; 36 and the Lord had given the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they let them have their request. Thus they plundered the Egyptians.” So, all of the gold, silver, and material needed for the Tabernacle, God had provided through the Egyptians. God gets all the glory for everything we accomplish, too, for we are nothing and have nothing to offer apart from Him (John 15:5).

God loves when we serve Him wholeheartedly, giving our all and holding nothing back, neither in our time, talents, or resources; that is exactly what we see the Israelites do in Exodus 36:1–7. The skilled laborers God provided started their work on the Tabernacle using all the materials the Israelites had brought. But what’s interesting is th...

God had called out Bezalel and Oholiab and every skillful person in whom He had put the skills and understanding needed to know how to perform all the work in constructing the Tabernacle. God gave these skilled laborers everything they needed to fulfill all the Lord commanded. God still does the same thing today. God tells us in Ephesians 4:1...

God has always been and will always be a God of specifics and detail....
