Day 7

Scripture to Read: 1 Thessalonians 5

As we finish up, we continue our walk thru 1 Thessalonians 5. In discipling others, as we know, we must be a living example for them. God gives us more disciplines that we must walk in daily in 1 Thessalonians 5:15–22, See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek after that which is good for one another and for all people. 16 Rejoice always; 17 pray without ceasing; 18 in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 19 Do not quench the Spirit; 20 do not despise prophetic utterances. 21 But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; 22 abstain from every form of evil. Our conduct must always be above reproach. So, we should never display any behavior that would cause people to question our intimacy with Christ our Lord. To never repay evil with evil but to always seek what is good for everyone is only possible through our daily pursuit of Christ and His Word. To have a joyful attitude means our focus must be on God and His Word (Philippians 4:8). To be in a constant state of prayer is to continually practice God’s presence in our lives. To always give thanks is recognizing that everything we have is a gift from God (James 1:17). We must guard against becoming unresponsive to the Holy Spirit’s work in us, and we must never despise God’s Truth. As we live God’s Truth, disciple others to do the same and fulfill Christ’s command to make disciples.

Challenge & Application

· What areas of conduct did God show you that you are doing well in as you walk with Him each day? · What areas of behavior do you need to work on, and how will you apply God’s Truth to your life each day this week?

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

We know that making disciples is commanded by our Lord; therefore, we must be making disciples by investing in others to grow in their walk with Christ. But to lead others, we must be a living example to show others to do what we are doing. God led Paul to make disciples and many times in God's Word, God led Paul to tell believers to follow h...
