Scripture to Read: 2 Thessalonians 2:15
God tells us throughout His Word to “stand firm.” As God led Paul to write to the believers in Thessalonica, God is also strongly encouraging us with the same truth that we must “stand firm.” Through Paul, God also tells us to hold tight to His Truth, which we have been taught. God and His Word are our foundation for each day of our lives, and we must hold fast to Him and His Word. God and His Word give us everything we need to overcome and “stand firm” in the storms of life. Another Scripture that ties directly to this 2 Thessalonians 2:15 today is Ephesians 6:10-17. God tells us to be strong in Him and in the strength of His might. We have no power apart from Him. God tells us in Ephesians 6:11, 13 to “put on” and to “take up” His full armor. God also tells us in Ephesians 6:11, 13, 14, to “stand firm.” We must realize in Ephesians 6:11-17 that God’s armor is describing God and His Word. God and His Word hold our lives together and protect our hearts (Ephesians 6:14). God and His Word are our Good News that we live by, walk in, stand firm in, and share with others (Ephesians 6:15). We place our complete faith in God and His Word (Ephesians 6:16). God and His Word guard our minds and are the sword we have to kill the enemy’s lies and temptations (Ephesians 6:17). Let’s stand firm each day.
