Day 6

Scripture to Read: 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10

When we take into account the fullness of God’s mercy, grace, love, forgiveness, and all of the other precious treasures He gives us as His children, it is too wonderful to truly comprehend. Today we read that God the Father, through our Lord Jesus Christ, chose to save (to rescue) us from His anger (wrath). God’s wrath is what every human being deserves. We will hear people say of other people that they are good people. But the reality in this life is that no one is good apart from Christ (Romans 3:10-12; Psalm 14:1-3; Psalm 53:1-3). Christ is the Only One who is worthy to be called good, that is why we deserve God the Father’s wrath (anger). Christ surrendered His life for all mankind so that anyone who surrenders to Christ will be set free from the wrath of God the Father. For all of us who are followers of Christ, we are already in His presence because He lives in us. Though we still live in our earthly shells, for now, God the Father has seated us with Christ in heaven (Ephesians 2:6-7; Colossians 3:3-4). Our home is secure, so that if our physical body dies before Christ returns, we will be immediately in His presence. But, if Christ does return while we are still here on earth, we will be ushered into His presence immediately and perfected completely by Him and through Him. That is why God tells us we are going to live together with Him.

Day 1

God created us because He desires fellowship with us. God does not need us, but He chose us even before we were created (Ephesians 1:4). God has always loved us (Ephesians 2:4-5), and His plan has always been to redeem us from the curse of sin and death. As far as when Christ will return for His bride, only God the Father knows (Matthew 24:36...

God Almighty has filled every believer with His wonderful Light for He has given us His Holy Spirit. We saw in yesterday’s devotion that we, as believers, are no longer in darkness because Christ has rescued us and redeemed us from the darkness as seen in Co...

Day 5

Today we read in 1 Thessalonians 5:8 a quick reminder that we, as believers, are of the day. So, let’s take a look at Ephesians 5:8-9 in the New Living Translation. Even though it is not a literal translation but a paraphrase of God’s Word, it reads clearly on what we are to do as believers, since we are of the day. “For once you were full of...
