Scripture to Read: 1 Thessalonians 3:13
As we come to the close of this week’s devotions, we have been challenged in the following: to share God’s Good News, to grow in Christ and stand firm in our faith, to walk in His joy and be thankful, to invest in others by making disciples, not to lose heart as we invest amid the tests and trials, and to love well. God desires us to be doing all of this “so that He may strengthen and establish our hearts without blame in holiness.” (1 Thessalonians 3:13 - Amplified Version) God is doing a mighty work in all of us because His Holy Spirit lives in us. God allows us to walk through tests and trials so that we are strengthened in our walk with Him. God is doing His work so that His holiness (blamelessness), which we have through Christ, is firmly established in us. Our lives are to look like Christ in the way we love, live, walk, and talk. When Christ returns for His church, God wants us standing perfect and complete, lacking in nothing (James 1:2-4). Therefore, we should never be surprised by the tests and trials of this life, for God is working through them to mold and shape us to look like Him. As we walk with Him and worship Him this week, let’s continually focus on Him and His Word. May we each keep in mind His handiwork in our lives and thank Him that He is not finished with us yet.
Challenge & Application
1. What did God teach you about being strengthened and established in Him?
2. Who will you share this truth with this week?
Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!
