Day 7

Scripture to Read: 1 Peter 1:12

What an incredible week God has given us this week as we have walked through 1 Peter 1:3-11. God has abundantly shown us the fullness of our reality in Christ. God has also revealed to us what our response to Christ should be because of all He’s done for us and continues to do through us. God has also clarified what the results of our salvation in Christ have brought us and will bring us when we’re finally united with Christ for eternity in heaven. Today, in 1 Peter 1:12, we finish by seeing what God revealed to the prophets of the Old Testament. God’s Word says, It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things into which angels long to look. So, the prophets were told that they were writing the prophecies to all of us who would come after them. God used these prophets of old to declare the coming of the Messiah. Though these prophets searched for the answers to who the Messiah would be and when He would come, their service was for those who would follow them. In His rich mercy and grace, God came to earth in the Person of Jesus, the Messiah. His Gospel has been preached to the world through the Holy Spirit for over 2,000 years. His Gospel is so incredible that even the angels eagerly watch as lives are transformed for eternity.

Challenge & Application

1. God used the prophets of the OT to serve us by giving us His Truth about Christ. How has God’s Truth changed you? 2. God has called us to continue to share His Truth with others so they too can know Christ. To whom are you sharing God’s Truth?

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

We know that our inheritance is Christ, for He is our great treasure and He, as our inheritance, is perfect, eternal, never changing, and waiting in heaven for us for all eternity. God the Father has done all of this for us through ou...

We know that Peter actually walked with our Lord Jesus Christ as one of His original followers. On many occasions, Peter had been given the incredible privilege of being with Christ, along with James and John, whereas the other di...

Day 6

God had Peter point out something unique about our salvation in Christ in 1 Peter 1:10-12. Today we’ll focus on 1 Peter 1:10-11 and then tomorrow, we’ll finish up with 1 Peter 1:12.
