Day 2

Scripture to Read: Romans 8:29–30

God loves us as His children, and to know He chose us before we ever knew Him is incredibly humbling. Today God tells us in Romans 8:29–30, For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified. When we, as God’s children, question God’s love for us, it’s because we don’t know the fullness of His Truth yet. God confirms that He loved and chose us even before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4). More good news for Christians that God gives us is that He chose us to be entirely sanctified by Him and be conformed to the image of our Lord Jesus Christ. Being conformed to Christ’s image will ultimately happen when we go home or when Christ returns. But until one of those two things happens, God desires us to model our lives after Him (Ephesians 5:1–2). God's work in us to share in this sanctification through Christ ultimately will bring glory to Christ, for He alone is the beloved and honored among all believers. So, as God’s children, He called us to do His work for His glory because He justified us. To be justified means God declared His children to be free from the guilt of sin, knowing Christ took our guilt for us. Finally, God will raise us to be glorified with our Lord.

Challenge & Application

· What God has done for us in Christ is phenomenal, but how does it change how you see yourself through God’s Truth? · How will what you learned today change how you live your life for our Lord?

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

Day 1

We just closed out an incredible week, focusing on our prayer lives. It’s awesome to know that God desires such sweet fellowship with us and then He, through the Holy Spirit, prays with, for, and through us. So, as we read Romans 8:28, God tells us, And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to tho...

Day 3

We will unpack some incredible questions over the next few days. But the good news is that God gives us even better answers to these questions. Today we read Romans 8:31–32, What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also ...

Day 4

God wants us, as His children, to walk confidently, knowing who we are in Him. The spiritual forces of darkness love to whisper lies into our minds, for they do not want us to walk in victory but defeat. Think of the lies we have believed in the past, some of which include, “You’re not worthy to be called God’s child,” “you’re not really forg...

Day 5

Though we did not get a chance to examine the rest of Romans 8:34 yesterday, we need to make sure we do not miss what God gives us in Christ. Did you see that Christ is at the right hand of God, interceding with the Father for us? After last week's devotions on prayer, it’s awesome to know that Christ is at the right hand of the Father, also ...

Day 6

Sometimes, as we walk through God’s Word, God gives us such a rich Truth that we need to stop and meditate on it to fully grasp what God is saying. Today God gives us this in Romans 8:37, But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. So, at this point, we have to take into account what God is referring to as He s...

Day 7

We have more good news today from God’s Word, and it’s worth memorizing. We memorize God’s Word because our minds can easily get focused on the darkness in this world. As we memorize God’s Word, He uses His Word to encourage, transform, and renew our minds. We read in Romans 8:38–39, For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels...
