Day 1

Scripture to Read: Romans 8:28

We just closed out an incredible week, focusing on our prayer lives. It’s awesome to know that God desires such sweet fellowship with us and then He, through the Holy Spirit, prays with, for, and through us. So, as we read Romans 8:28, God tells us, And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. So, knowing God the Holy Spirit prays on our behalf, we can also know that God the Father will take all of our life situations and use them for His good. Now, God does not say that all life’s situations are good. Some things happen that are not good, and those things can bring pain to our lives. But God will even use those things to mold us and shape us into His image. Another thing not to miss is that God works out all of life's situations for good, but only for His children. God obviously works on His children’s behalf because we belong to Him. Another obvious reason God does not work on behalf of lost people is because of what we learned in Romans 8:5–8. Those who are lost cannot please God, and their lives are hostile toward God. So, can God use lost people to carry out His perfect will? Of course, He can, for we see God use lost people throughout His Word to fulfill His perfect plan. But for His children, God works all things together for good, which is good news for all His children.

Day 2

God loves us as His children, and to know He chose us before we ever knew Him is incredibly humbling. Today God tells us in Romans 8:29–30, For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and th...

Day 3

We will unpack some incredible questions over the next few days. But the good news is that God gives us even better answers to these questions. Today we read Romans 8:31–32, What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also ...

Day 4

God wants us, as His children, to walk confidently, knowing who we are in Him. The spiritual forces of darkness love to whisper lies into our minds, for they do not want us to walk in victory but defeat. Think of the lies we have believed in the past, some of which include, “You’re not worthy to be called God’s child,” “you’re not really forg...

Day 5

Though we did not get a chance to examine the rest of Romans 8:34 yesterday, we need to make sure we do not miss what God gives us in Christ. Did you see that Christ is at the right hand of God, interceding with the Father for us? After last week's devotions on prayer, it’s awesome to know that Christ is at the right hand of the Father, also ...

Day 6

Sometimes, as we walk through God’s Word, God gives us such a rich Truth that we need to stop and meditate on it to fully grasp what God is saying. Today God gives us this in Romans 8:37, But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. So, at this point, we have to take into account what God is referring to as He s...

Day 7

We have more good news today from God’s Word, and it’s worth memorizing. We memorize God’s Word because our minds can easily get focused on the darkness in this world. As we memorize God’s Word, He uses His Word to encourage, transform, and renew our minds. We read in Romans 8:38–39, For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels...
