Scripture to Read: Romans 8:27
Prayer is our daily, hourly, minute-by-minute communication with God. Prayer is our way of fellowshipping with our Heavenly Daddy. We all use social media to stay connected with family, friends, co-workers, bosses, and others. God wants us in an attitude of prayer at all times (1 Thessalonians 5:17, Colossians 4:2). Praying is like how we use our cell phones. We are constantly texting, answering, making calls, answering and sending emails, and checking our social media accounts. God wants us that connected with Him. We must choose to stay alert and always ready because we are in a battle against the spiritual forces of darkness (Ephesians 6:12). That is why all Christians must pray for each other, knowing what kind of battle we each face daily. Christ even tells us that the second greatest commandment in Matthew 22:39 is to love our neighbor as ourselves. We love and care for all the saints by praying for each other. As we pray, we must pray Ephesians 6:19–20 for each other. If all believers would pray this daily for one another, imagine what could happen for the Kingdom of God and His glory. God wants us prepared to share each day, knowing we live in a lost and dying world. God wants to use us, but we must never enter the battlefield unprepared. Prayer helps prepare us for each day, knowing God wants to use us for His glory. So let’s be sure and pray Ephesians 6:19–20 and join our King's work as He transforms lives.
