Scripture to Read: Romans 8:26
There is no doubt that this world will end one day. God records this fact in Matthew 24, 2 Peter 3, and Revelation 21. God will destroy the heavens and the earth, but He’ll create a brand new one. In the same way, we will not remain in these “fleshly shells” in which we now dwell. So, what should we focus on while we’re here? Don’t take life or the people God has placed in our lives for granted. We must pray for each other, with each other, and stay focused on Christ (Colossians 3:1–4, Philippians 2:3–4). When we pray and focus on Christ, we remain guarded in our minds, and we stay protected in our decisions because we stay in constant fellowship with our Lord. We hear Him clearly as we fellowship with Him because He speaks to our hearts through prayer and His Word. We struggle less because we trust Him in every area of our lives (spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, financially, and sexually). As believers, prayer is as vital to our lives as breathing. Without prayer, we slowly lose spiritual consciousness and soon we are powerless, overwhelmed by the cares of life, feel like everything is caving in on us, and quickly start looking for a way of escape. We will try to fill our void with what this world offers. As we pray, we are strengthened, feel alive and refreshed, and cast all our cares on Him because we know He’s in charge. We stop trusting in what we think we know and trust Him.
Challenge & Application

· How are you praying each day and ensuring you stay guarded against focusing on this world?
Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!
