Scripture to Read: Romans 8:27
As we begin today, a great reminder for us is that God is One and manifests Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God being Three in One is often hard to understand or explain, but that does not change the fact that it is true. The reason this is so important for us to understand is that God the Father, Son, and Spirit all have an integral part of our prayer lives. As we continue to examine prayer and all that God has called us to, we see in Romans 8:27 that God the Father knows the mind of the Spirit. In other words, God the Father knows what the Spirit is praying on our behalf. Of course, the reason God the Father knows what the Spirit is praying is because God is One. Also, God the Spirit takes our prayers and makes our prayers according to God the Father’s perfect will. Think about how often we have felt like our prayers were going nowhere or thought that God might not even be listening to us. But the good news God gives us today is that He’s always listening and that He, through His Holy Spirit, is taking our prayers and making them exactly according to His perfect will. The fact that God wants us to fellowship with Him through prayer is amazing. But, what’s even more amazing is that He does not want us worrying about whether or not our prayers are being heard by Him. So, we can rest in His Truth and know He’s listening and praying for us.
