Day 1

Scripture to Read: Romans 8:26

This week, we have an incredible opportunity to focus on prayer and how God works in the midst of our prayer life. Prayer is a vital part of our daily fellowship with God. God tells us in Romans 8:26, In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. So, we see several things in Romans 8:26. God points out that we have a weakness. Our weakness is that we don’t know how to pray as we should. Now, maybe some had this thought come to mind, “I already knew I was weak in prayer.” For others, before reading this passage, the thought might have been, “I feel like I’m pretty solid in my prayer life.” Either way, God tells us we’re all weak when it comes to praying. The good news is that God helps our weakness in prayer. God doesn’t leave us alone in our prayer life, but through His Holy Spirit, God consistently prays on our behalf. Prayer is such a privilege for each of us, as God’s children. God invites us into His throne room because He loves for us to spend intimate time with Him. So, when we pray, we can know that God the Father hears us and understands what we need. God wants us to join Him in what He is continually doing for us: PRAYING. Knowing His Truth reminds us to join Him and have sweet fellowship with Him each day.

Sometimes we’re even afraid to pray out loud for fear that someone will think us weird or weak because of what we prayed or possibly did not pray. The passages we’ll examine this week will help us overcome our fears of prayer and see the inc...

Day 3

How important is prayer? Martin Luther said, “To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing.” Martin Luther’s statement is so true. We must stay in constant fellowship with our Lord God Almighty to live the spiritual life God has called us to live and overcome the battles we face each day. Since we kn...

Day 4

There is no doubt that this world will end one day. God records this fact in Matthew 24, 2 Peter 3, and Revelation 21. God will destroy the heavens and the earth, but He’ll create a brand new one. In the same way, we will not remain in these “fleshly shells” in which we now dwell. So, what should we focus on while we’re here? Don’t take life ...

Day 5

As we begin today, a great reminder for us is that God is One and manifests Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God being Three in One is often hard to understand or explain, but that does not change the fact that it is true. The reason this is so important for us to understand is that God the Father, Son, and Spirit all have an integral...

Day 6

The opportunity to examine our prayer lives is good for all of us. Even though there are only two verses to read this week, God has given us a lot in His Word on prayer. Today we must remember how important Christian friendships are to our growth and maturity in Christ. In Philippians 1:7–11, God shows us that if we genuinely care for people,...

Day 7

Prayer is our daily, hourly, minute-by-minute communication with God. Prayer is our way of fellowshipping with our Heavenly Daddy. We all use social media to stay connected with family, friends, co-workers, bosses, and others. God wants us in an attitude of prayer at all times (1 Thessalonians 5:17, Colossians 4:2). Praying is like how we use...
