Scripture to Read: Romans 6:8–9
The goodness of God continues to overflow each day of our lives. We must get into God’s Word daily because He feeds and fills us with the richness of all we have in Christ. When we rob ourselves of being in God’s Word, we starve ourselves spiritually and fall into temptations and snares that our enemy sets for us. God tells us in Romans 6:8–9, “Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him.” God reminds us that since we died with Christ, there is no doubt that we will also live eternally with Christ. Sometimes as Christians, we doubt who we are in Christ and all we have through Christ. Most of our doubts come when we are not consistently walking in sweet fellowship with our Lord and His Word each day. But today, God reminds us that since Christ was raised from the dead, death no longer has any power over Him. God gives us this same good news, that we will live eternally, in 1 Corinthians 15:54–55, “But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, ‘Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?’” We, as Christians, have zero reasons to fear death because in Christ, the sting of death has been obliterated.
