Scripture to Read: Romans 1:14
Yesterday, God showed us that His call on Paul’s life included Gentiles. God had made His call on Paul’s life clear to Ananias when God told Ananias this about Paul in Acts 9:15–16: “Go, for he is a chosen instrument of Mine, to bear My name before the Gentiles and kings and the sons of Israel; 16 for I will show him how much he must suffer for My name’s sake.” God's plan for Paul had been laid out from Paul's conversion. That is why God led Paul to write this in Romans 1:14 to the believers in Rome: I am under obligation both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to the wise and to the foolish. Our Lord Jesus had commanded Paul to take the gospel to the Gentiles. Paul did not show any favoritism when it came to sharing the gospel, but he followed the command of our Lord. While we may not be given the same specific call as Paul, God has given us the same command to share the gospel with those around us. God has placed each of us for His purpose and glory in the families we belong to, in the friendships that we have, in the cities we live in, and in the jobs we have or the school we attend. As ambassadors of Christ, we are called to represent Him as we share Him and point others to the hope they can have through a relationship with Him (2 Corinthians 5:17–21). So, let's fulfill the ministry God has called us to fulfill.
