Scripture to Read: Isaiah 9:7
Isaiah 9:7 brings us back to how long our Messiah will reign as King and Lord. The reign of our Messiah will not just be 1,000 years, even though the millennium is a special aspect of His reign. The Good News is that there will be no end to the reign of our Messiah. Our Lord Jesus Christ will rule and reign for all eternity. Though we must seek God’s peace (Colossians 3:15; 1 Peter 3:11; 1 Peter 5:6-7) each day we’re here on earth, one day we will experience His peace completely. All of the tests, trials, and tribulations will be over, and we will experience His peace forever as we will reign with our King, as His children. Our Lord is the fulfillment of 2 Samuel 7, as God prophesies, through Nathan, to David, that God’s covenant will be with One who will reign on David’s throne for all eternity. Sometimes all of this sounds too good to be true, especially when we see the death and destruction in this world. But God is going to fulfill all of His promises. Most of them have already been fulfilled through our Lord. God the Father has promised to accomplish all of His Word, so the only prophecies yet to be fulfilled are those that will take place when Christ returns. The Good News is that Jesus is Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace for everyone who surrenders to Him. Let’s be sure and share this Good News today.
