Day 3

Scripture to Read: Matthew 11:27

Jesus also said in Matthew 11:27, “…no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.” God the Father and God the Son have perfect unity, along with God the Spirit. They’ve always been in perfect union but as Christ made this statement, He revealed that no one knows Him as well as the Father and no one knows the Father as well as He does. Another beautiful truth is that Jesus chose to come to earth to reveal the Father to us so we could know Him. The unity that Jesus has with the Father, Jesus asked the Father to unify us with Them. Jesus prayed in John 17:20–23, “I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; 21 that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; 23 I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.” Jesus asked the Father for everyone who will ever believe in Him, that we all be one just as the Father and Him are one.

Challenge & Application

· Knowing Jesus wants us to enjoy perfect unity with all believers, how are you working at that with the Christians you know? · How has Christ in you changed the way you see others in this life?

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

Day 1

Merry Christmas!!! Today, we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though we’ll be in Matthew 11:27–30 this week, it’s appropriate for today to examine Luke 1 as Gabriel told Mary about the birth of our Lord. Many theologians believe Mary was only 13 or 14 years old, and Joseph was around 17 to 18 when all of this happened. During Chr...

Day 2

Christ is Lord over everything and though God is One, He has revealed Himself as Father, Son, and Spirit. Jesus said in Matthew 11:27, “All things have been handed over to Me by My Father…” When Jesus said that the Father handed over everything to Him, Jesus confirmed that He is co-equal with God the Father and that He has authority from God ...

Day 4

Jesus knows that in this world we have tests and trials, which can seem overwhelming at times. Of course, according to James 1:2–4, God’s Word reminds us, “Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you m...

Day 5

Our Lord Jesus often used illustrations in His teaching so that everyone would understand. The term “yoke” is not common today. The word "yoke" is used in several different ways in the Bible, but most of the time it referred to a wooden frame that was put over the necks of two animals so that they could pull together a plow or cart. So, when ...

Day 6

When we consider that Christ called us to take His yoke upon ourselves, as we saw in yesterday’s devotion, that means we must serve. Jesus Said in John 13:13–15, “You call Me Teacher and Lord; and you are right, for so I am. 14 If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I gave you ...

Day 7

Jesus has taught us about loving and serving each other as He loves and serves us. Sometimes, loving and serving as Christ loved and served seems too much to handle, but our Lord gives us more Good News. Jesus said in Matthew 11:30, “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Jesus wants us to know that following His example is not too much...
