Scripture to Read: Luke 16:30-31
As we read Luke 16:30-31, we find that the rich man did not like the answer he received from Abraham. As we saw in yesterday’s devotion, Abraham had told the rich man that what the rich man’s five brothers had from what was written in the Old Testament was more than enough to lead the rich man’s five brothers to the point of repentance. But the rich man pleads with Abraham that someone rising from the dead would be more convincing to his five brothers. Of course, let’s not forget that Jesus is sharing this parable. So, as we read Luke 16:31, Abraham answers the rich man and says, “If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.” Jesus was declaring His death and resurrection here in Luke 16:31. We know full well that many living in His day did not believe when Christ was raised from the dead, and millions still do not believe today. The evidence that proves Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection is overwhelming but people still choose not to believe. Even Thomas, one of Jesus’ disciples, in John 20:25 said “Unless I see in His hands the imprint of the nails, and put my finger into the place of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe,” because Thomas did not believe the other disciple’s testimony that they had seen the risen Lord. Though doubters still question, we must be diligent in sharing Christ with everyone we know.

2. Who are the doubters you will share Christ with this week?
